    Description / Table of Contents: The IR spectra of OPF2Cl and OPFCl2 were taken and partially assigned. Approximate PF and PCl force constants are compared with those of other OP halides and discussed in relation to chemical bonding.
    Notes: Die bisher nicht bekannten IR-Spektren von OPF2Cl und OPFCl2 werden gemessen und teilweise zugeordnet. Näherungsweise berechnete PF- und PCl-Valenzkraftkonstanten werden mit entsprechenden Werten anderer Phosphorylhalogenide verglichen und im Zusammenhang mit den Bindungsverhältnissen diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: The general relation fNS = 145, rNS-7.00 is derived for nitrogen sulfur compounds from experimentally determined bond lengths rNS together with calculated force constants fNS. With this equation force constants were estimated from measured bond lengths, as well as bond lengths from known force constants for several compounds. The results are discussed. In addition heats of formation and bond energies of some NS compounds were determined by mass spectrometry.
    Notes: Aus bekannten Abständen und Kraftkonstanten von N—S-Verbindungen wurde die Beziehung fNS = 145 · rNS-7,00 abgeleitet. Mit Hilfe dieser Gleichung wurden Kraftkonstanten für andere N—S-Verbindungen aus bekannten Bindungsabständen und umgekehrt Bindungslängen aus bekannten fNS-Werten abgeschätzt. Die Ergebnisse werden kurz diskutiert. Weiterhin wurden für verschiedene NS-Verbindungen massenspektroskopisch Bildungsenthalpien und Bindungsenergien bestimmt.

    Description / Table of Contents: The volatibility of metallic silver in the temperature range 790-920°C is shown to be equal in argon and oxygen as carrier gases. The existence of a gaseous silver oxide at the applied experimental conditions is, therefore, excluded.
    Notes: Im Temperaturbereich von 790 bis 920°C ist die Flüchtigkeit des Silbers mit Argon und Sauerstoff als Trägergas gleich groß. Die Existenz eines gasförmigen Silberoxids ist daher innerhalb der Meßgenauigkeit der angewandten Mitführungsmethode auszuschließen.

    Description / Table of Contents: The alkaline degradation of the metatungstate ion [W12O38(OH)2]6- proceeds as a bimolecular reaction having an activation energy of 9.8 kcals per mole. [SiW12O40]4- is analogously desaggregated (15.4 kcals per mole). In both cases the rate-determining step is obviously a nucleophilic attack by an OH- ion on the polyion.
    Notes: Die alkalische Desaggregation des Metawolframations [W12O38(OH)2]6- verläuft als bimolekulare Reaktion, deren Aktivierungsenergie 9,8 kcal · Mol-1 beträgt. Die zum Vergleich gemessene alkalische Desaggregation des Silicowolframations [SiW12O40]4- ist ebenfalls eine bimolekulare Reaktion, deren Aktivierungsenergie zu 15,4 kcal · Mol-1 ermittelt wird. In beiden Fällen ist der geschwindigkeitsbestimmende Schritt offensichtlich der nucleophile Angriff eines OH--Ions auf das Polyion.

    Description / Table of Contents: The infrared spectra of gaseous OPF2Br and OPFBr2 are taken, partially assigned, and discussed, especially regarding the frequency of the PO stretching vibration which, as the only one out of all fundamental vibrations of the phosphoryl halides, decreases strongly on going from the gaseous to the liquid state. The NMR chemical shifts δ19F and δ31P of OPF2Br and OPFBr2, together with the coupling constants, are measured.
    Notes: Die Infrarotspektren von gasförmigem OPF2Br und OPFBr2 werden gemessen, teilweise zugeordnet und diskutiert. Hierbei wird besonders die Lage der PO-Valenzschwingung, die in Phosphorylhalogeniden als einzige der Grundschwingungen eine starke Erniedrigung beim Übergang vom gasförmigen in den flüssigen Zustand zeigt, betrachtet. Weiterhin werden die chemischen Verschiebungen δ19F und δ31P von OPF2Br und OPFBr2 sowie die entsprechenden Kopplungskonstanten gemessen.

    Description / Table of Contents: -acid gives with orthophosphate in aqueous solution no pyrophosphate. There is, however an exchange reaction according to This has been proved by radioactive labelled orthophosphate or -acid. Besides the exchange reaction, there is a certain degree of hydrolysis of the -acid. Pyrophosphate reacts with orthophosphate in a similar way, however, under considerably more drastic conditions.
    Notes: -Säure reagiert in wässeriger Lösung mit Orthophosphat, nicht zu Pyrophosphat, sondern in Form einer Austauschreaktion entsprechend wie durch Einsatz von radioaktiv markiertem Orthophosphat oder radioaktiv markierter -Säure nachgewiesen wurde. Neben der Austauschreaktion erleidet die -Säure ein gewisses Maß an Hydrolyse. Pyrophosphat reagiert mit Orthophosphat in ähnlicher Weise. jedoch unter erheblich energischeren Bedingungen.
