Description / Table of Contents:
The behaviour of SC(SH)(SSH) in aqueous solutions between 0°C and 25°C was investigated by means of conductivity and pH measurements. The equivalent conductivities (Λ0T) of CS42- and of H2CS4, as well as the dissociation constants Ka1 und Ka2 of H2CS4 were determined. The thermodynamical data of the dissociation were calculated. From electrical data it is concluded that the decomposition of H2CS4 in aqueous solution is a first-order reaction. The decomposition constant, the activation energy, and the half-life were determined.Furthermore, the STOKES radius of the CS42- ion, the radius of the hydrated ion and its diffusion coefficient were calculated.
Notes:
