A Method for the Comparative Determination of FoamsAfter discussing our knowledge of the formation and the properties of foams and of some methods of measuring which have hitherto been in common use, the author describes a standardizable apparatus for converting small quantities of solutions into foams. This apparatus allows the comparative determination of the dynamic and the static foaming power of 30 runs. The term “minimum bubble size“ is introduced.

Nach einer Schilderung unserer Kenntnisse über Entstehung und Eigenschaften von Schäumen und einiger bisher üblicher Meßverfahren wird eine eichfähige Apparatur für die Zerschäumung kleiner Mengen beschrieben, die es gestattet, das dynamische und das statische Schaumvermögen von 30 Ansätzen vergleichend zu bestimmen. Der Begriff der „Mindestblasengröße“ wird eingeführt.
