A new space-marching technique is developed and shown to be robust and efficient for both internal and external flows. The new marching technique solves the coupled governing equations at two adjacent streamwise locations simultaneously, and the streamwise pressure gradient is discretized with central-differencing instead of the more usual forward-differencing in the marching direction. The governing equations are solved by marching either in the main flow direction or in the reverse direction, with ‘departure-free’ solutions.
