    Description / Table of Contents: The Crystal Structures of (NH4)2[ReCl6], [ReCl2(CH3CN)4]2[ReCl6] · 2CH3CN and [ReCl4(18)(Crown-6)]Brown single crystals of (NH4)2[ReCl6] are formed by the reaction of NH4Cl with ReCl5 in a suspension of diethylether. [ReCl2(CH3CN)4]2[ReCl6] · 2CH3CN crystallizes as brown crystal plates from a solution of ReCl5 in acetonitrile. Lustrous green single crystals of [ReCl4(18-crown-6)] are obtained by the reaction of 18-crown-6 with ReCl5 in a dichloromethane suspension. All rhenium compounds are characterized by IR spectroscopy and by crystal structure determinations.(NH4)2[ReCl6]: Space group Fm3m, Z = 4, 75 observed unique reflections, R = 0.01. Lattice constant at -70°C: a = 989.0(1) pm. The compound crystallizes in the (NH4)2[PtCl6] type, the Re—Cl distance is 235.5(1) pm.[ReCl2(CH3CN)4]2[ReCl6] · 2CH3CN: Space group P1, Z = 1, 2459 observed unique reflections, R = 0.12. Lattice dimensions at -60°C: a = 859.0(1), b = 974.2(7), c = 1287.3(7) pm, α = 102.69(5)°, b̃ = 105.24(7)°, γ = 102.25(8)°. The structure consists of two symmetry-independent [ReCl2(CH3CN)4]+ ions with trans chlorine atoms, [ReCl6]2- ions, and included acetonitrile molecules. In the cations the Re—Cl bond lengths are 233 pm in average, in the anion they are 235 pm in average.[ReCl4(18-crown-6)]: Space group P21/n, Z = 4, 3 633 observed unique reflections, R = 0.06. Lattice dimensions at -70°C: a = 1040.2(4), b = 1794.7(5), c = 1090.0(5) pm, b̃ = 108.91(4)°. The compound forms a molecular structure, in which the rhenium atom is octahedrally coordinated by the four chlorine atoms and by two oxygen atoms of the crown ether molecule.
    Notes: Braune Einkristalle von (NH4)2[ReCl6] entstehen durch Reaktion von NH4Cl mit ReCl5 in einer Diethylethersuspension. [ReCl2(CH3CN)4]2[ReCl6] · 2CH3CN kristallisiert als braune Kristallplättchen aus einer Lösung von ReCl5 in Acetonitril. In den Kationen betragen die Re—Cl-Abstände im Mittel 233 pm, im Anion im Mittel 235 pm.[ReCl4(18-Krone-6)]: Raumgruppe P21/n, Z = 4, 3 633 beobachtete unabhängige Reflexe, R = 0,06. Gitterkonstanten bei -70°C: a = 1040,2(4); b = 1794,7(5); c = 1090,0(5) pm; b̃ = 108,91(4)°. Die Verbindung bildet eine Molekülstruktur, in der das Rheniumatom oktaedrisch von den vier Chloratomen und von zwei Sauerstoffatomen des Kronenethers koordiniert ist.

    Description / Table of Contents: Phosphorane Iminato Complexes of Sulfur. Syntheses and Crystal Structures of [O3SS(NPPh3)2] · CH3CN, [SO(NPPh3)2], and [SCl(NPMe3)2]ClThe title compounds have been prepared by the reaction of Me3SiNPPh3 with SO2 and SOCl2, respectively, and by the reaction of Me3SiNPMe3 with S2Cl2. They form colourless, moisture sensitive crystals, which were characterized by IR spectroscopy and by crystal structure determinations.[O3SS((NPPh3)2)] · CH3CN: Space group Pca21, Z = 4, structure solution with 4016 observed unique reflections, R = 0.050. Lattice dimensions at -60°C: a = 1865.1, b = 1168.4, c = 1569.0 pm. The compound has a zwitterionic structure with a S—S bond length of 218.2 pm and bond lengths S—N of 161.2 and P—N of 160.1 pm.[SO(NPPh3)2]: Space group P21/c, Z = 4, structure solution with 2854 observed unique reflections, R = 0.113. Lattice dimensions at -50°C: a = 1173.1, b = 1585.6, c = 1619.2 pm, b̃ = 98.13°. The compound forms monomeric molecules, in which the positions of S and N atoms are disordered in two positions. The bond lengths are S—N 166 pm and P—N 163 pm in average.[SCl(NPMe3)2]Cl: Space group P1, Z = 2, structure solution with 2416 observed unique reflections, R = 0.038. Lattice dimensions at 20°C: a = 613.2, b = 1030.3, c = 1111.4 pm, α = 88.48°, b̃ = 88.01°, γ = 83.10°. The compound forms ions [SCl(NPMe3)2]+ and Cl-. In the cation the sulfur atom is φ-tetrahedrally coordinated with a long S—Cl distance of 246.9 pm and bond lengths S—N of 155.3 pm and P—N of 164.3 pm in average.

    Description / Table of Contents: Reactions of MoNCl3 and WNCl3 with Elemental Fluorine. Crystal Structures of [MoO2F2(THF)2] and [WF4(NCl)(CH3CN)]The nitrido chlorides MoNCl3 and WNCl3 as well as WCl4(NCl) react with elemental fluorine forming the N-chloro imido complexes MoF4(NCl) and WF4(NCl), which were characterized by IR spectroscopy. With tetrahydrofurane MoF4(NCl) reacts to give [MoF4(NCl)(THF)], which in THF solution slowly converts into [MoO2F2(THF)2]. From WF4(NCl) with acetonitrile the complex [WF4(NCl)(CH3CN)] is obtained. Both donor acceptor complexes were characterized by crystal structure determinations.[MoO2F2(THF)2]: Space group P21/n, Z = 4, structure solution with 1823 unique reflections, R = 0.033 for reflections with I 〉 2σ(I). Lattice dimensions at -40°C: a = 636.2, b = 1119.5, c = 1625.2 pm; β = 93.92(1)º. The compound has a monomeric molecular structure with the fluorine atoms in trans-position to one another and with the oxygen atoms of the THF molecules in trans to the oxo ligands.[WF4(NCl)(CH3CN)]: Space group P21/m, Z = 2, structure solution with 1119 unique reflections, R = 0.038 for reflections with I 〉 2σ(I). Lattice dimensions at 20°C: a = 511.7, b = 714.9, c = 1002.5 pm; β = 102.59(10)º. The compound has a monomeric molecular structure in which the nitrogen atom of the acetonitrile molecule coordinates in trans-position to the N-chloro imido group W≡N—Cl. The structural parameters of this group are WN = 172.2 pm, NCl = 161.1 pm, WNCl = 178.6º.
    Notes: Die Nitridochloride MoNCl3 und WNCl3 reagieren ebenso wie WCl4(NCl) mit elementarem Fluor unter Bildung der N-chlorimido-Komplexe MoF4(NCl) und WF4(NCl), die durch ihre Spektren charakterisiert werden. Mit Tetrahydrofuran reagiert MoF4(NCl) unter Bildung von [MoF4(NCl)(THF)], das sich in THF-Lösung langsam in MoO2F2(THF)2 umwandelt. WF4(NCl) bildet mit Acetonitril den Komplex [WF4(NCl)(CH3CN)]. Von beiden Donor-Akzeptor-Komplexen wurden Kristallstrukturanalysen angefertigt.[MoO2F2(THF)2]: Raumgruppe P21/n, Z = 4, Strukturlösung mit 1823 unabhängigen Reflexen, R = 0,033 für Reflexe mit I 〉 2σ(I). Gitterkonstanten bei -40°C: a = 636,2; b = 1119,5; c = 1625,2 pm; β = 93,92(1)º. Die Verbindung hat eine monomere Molekülstruktur, in der die F-Atome in trans-Position zueinander und die O-Atome der THF-Moleküle in trans-Stellung zu den Oxoliganden angeordnet sind.[WF4(NCl)(CH3CN)]: Raumgruppe P21/m, Z = 2, Strukturlösung mit 1119 unabhängigen Reflexen, R = 0,038 für Reflexe mit I 〉 2σ(I). Gitterkonstanten bei 20°C: a = 511,7; b = 714,9; c = 1002,5 pm; β = 102,59(10)º. Die Verbindung hat eine monomere Molekülstruktur, in der das N-Atom des Acetonitrilmoleküls in trans-Stellung zur N-chlorimido-Gruppe W≡N—Cl angeordnet ist. Die Strukturparameter dieser Gruppe sind WN = 172,2 pm, NCl = 161,1 pm, WNCl 178,6º.

    Description / Table of Contents: Stericly Shielded Nitrido Complexes of Molybdenum and Tungsten. The Crystal Structures of [MoN(NPh2)3] and [W4N4(NPh2)6(OnC4H9)2]The reactions of MoNCl3 and WNCl3, respectively, with lithium diphenylamide in tetrahydrofurane produce the monomeric nitrido complexes MN(NPh2)3 with CN = 4 at the metal atoms. In the presence of lithium-n-butyl LiNPh2 and WNCl3 also form the tetrameric nitrido complex [W4N4(NPh2)6(OnC4H9)2] which contains WV and WVI. The compounds are characterized by their i.r. spectra, by X-ray structural analysis, and, partially, by 1H and 13C n.m.r. spectroscopy.MoN(NPh2)3: Space group P1, Z = 2, 4060 observed independent reflexions, R = 0.031. Lattice dimensions at 20°C: a = 956.2(4) pm, b = 1 015.9(2) pm, c = 1 598.1(3) pm; α = 79.06(2)°, β = 85.67(3)°, γ = 82.57(3)°. The compound forms monomeric molecules with Mo≡N bond lengths of 163.4 pm and mean Mo—NPh2 distances of 199.2 pm.[W4N4(NPh2)6(OnC4H9)2]: Space group P21/n, Z = 2, 1903 observed independent reflexions, R=0.039. Lattice parameters at 19°C: a = 1582.2(3) pm, b = 1182.4(2) pm, c = 2053.3(4) pm; β = 103.77(2)°. The compound forms centrosymmetric molecules, in which the central W-W dumb-bell (bond length 253.5 pm) is linked by the nitrido ligands of two WN2(NPh2)2=units in a T shaped order of the N-atoms.
    Notes: Die Umsetzungen von MoNCl3 bzw. WNCl3 mit Lithium-Diphenylamid in Tetrahydrofuran führen zu den monomeren Nitridokomplexen MN(NPh2)3 mit KZ = 4 an den Metallatomen. Bei Anwesenheit von Lithium-n-butyl reagiert LiNPh2 mit WNCl3 auch zu dem tetrameren, Wolfram(V) und Wolfram(VI) enthaltenden Nitridokomplex [W4N4(NPh2)6(OnC4H9)2]. Die Verbindungen werden durch ihre IR-Spektren, zum Teil durch die 1H- und 13C-Kernresonanzspektren sowie durch Röntgenstrukturanalysen charakterisiert.MoN(NPh2)3: Raumgruppe P1, Z = 2, 4060 unabhängige beobachtete Reflexe, R = 3,1%. Gitterabmessungen bei 20°C: a = 956,2(4); b = 1015,9(2); c = 1598,1(3) pm; α = 79,06(2)°; β = 85,67(3)°; γ = 82,57(3)°. Die Verbindung bildet monomere Moleküle mit Bindungslängen Mo≡N 163,4 pm und Mo—NPh2 von im Mittel 199,2 pm.[W4N4(NPh2)6(OnC4H9)2]: Raumgruppe P21/n, Z = 2, 1903 beobachtete unabhängige Reflexe, R = 3,9%. Gitterabmessungen bei 19°C: a = 1 582,2(3); b = 1 182,4(2); c = 2 053,3(4) pm; β = 103,77(2)°. Die Verbindung bildet zentrosymmetrische Moleküle, deren zentrale W - W-Hantel (Bindungslänge 253,5 pm) über die Nitridoliganden zweier WN2(NPh2)2-Einheiten mit T-förmiger Anordnung der N-Atome verknüpft ist.

    Description / Table of Contents: On the Crown Ether Complexes [K(15-Crown-5)2]3[Sb3I12], [TeCl3(15-Crown-5)][TeCl5], and [TeCl3(15-Crown-5)]2[TeCl6]Orange-coloured crystals of [K(15-crown-5)2]3[Sb3I12] are formed in the reaction of potassium iodide with antimony triiodide and 15-crown-5 in acetonitrile solution. An X-ray structure determination reveals severe disorder of the crown ether molecules, which coordinate to the potassium atoms in a sandwich array; so only the [Sb3I12]3- ion and the potassium positions were ascertained. The anion is a centrosymmetric trimer (symmetry C2h), which can be understood as central SbI63- ion, coordinated by two SbI3 molecules. (Space group C2/m), Z = 2, 3263 observed, independent reflections, R = 0.06, lattice dimensions at 20°C: a = 2541.1 pm, b = 1441.7 pm, c = 1588.4 pm, β = 113.33°.The tellurium complexes [TeCl3(15-crown-5)] [TeCl5] and [TeCl3(15-crown-5)]2[TeCl6] are prepared by reaction of TeCl4 with 15-crown-5 in acetonitrile solution, forming yellow-green crystals sensitive to moisture. They are characterized by their i.r. spectra.
    Notes: Orange Kristalle [K(15-Krone-5)2]3[Sb3I12] entstehen durch Einwirkung von Kaliumiodid auf Antimontriiodid bei Anwesenheit von 15-Krone-5 in Acetonitrillösung. Wegen Fehlordnung der die Kaliumionen sandwichartig koordinierenden Kronenethermoleküle konnten röntgenogrpahisch in der Struktur nur das [Sb3I12]3--Ion sicher aufgeklärt werden. Es bildet ein zentrosymmetrisches Trimer (Symmetrie C2h), das sich als zentrales SbI63--Ion mit zwei koordinierten SbI3-Molekülen auffassen läßt. Raumgruppe C2/m, Z = 2, 3263 unabhängige beobachtete Reflexe, R = 6,2%. Gitterabmessungen bei 20 °C: a = 2541,1; b = 1441,7; c = 1588,4 pm, β = 113,33°.Die Tellurokomplexe [TeCl3(15-Krone-5)] [TeCl5] und [TeCl3(15-Krone-5)]2[TeCl6] entstehen aus TeCl4 und 15-Krone-5 in Acetonitrillösung als gelbgrüne, feuchtigkeitsempfindliche Kristalle, die durch ihre IR-Spektren charakterisiert werden.

The crystal Structures of [Na-15-Crown-5]2[WO2F3]2 ·2 CH3CN and [Na-15-Crown-5]2[WOSF3]2 · 2 CH3CNThe reaction of sodium fluoride with WSCL4 in acetonitrile solution successively leads in the presence of 15-crown-5 to the complexes [Na-15-crown-5][WSCl4F], [Na-15-crown-5]2[WSCl2F3], and [Na-15-crown-5][WSF5]. These complexes are characterized by their i.r. spectra. In acetonitrile partial hydrolysis of [Na-15-crown-5][WSF5] leads to [Na-15-crown-5]2[WSOF3]2 · 2 CH3CN; likewise one obtains [Na-15-crown-5]2[WO2[WO2F3]2] · 2 CH3CN from [Na-15-crown-5]2[WSOF7] by partial hydrolysis. X-ray structural analyses were carried out for both these chalcogeno complexes. [Na-15-crown-5]2[WO2F3]2 · 2 CH3CN: space group P1, Z = 1, 2316 unique observed reflexions, R = 0.036. Lattice dimensions at -65°C: a = 851.0, b = 1064.6, c = 1130.2 pm, α = 105.18°, β = 95.12°, γ = 102.48°.[Na-15-crown-5]2[WOSF3]2 · 2 CH3CN: space group P1, Z = 1,2472 unique observed reflexions, R = 0.030. Lattice dimensions at -80°C: a = 856.3, b = 1062.8, c = 1181.1 pm, α = 107.68°, β = 95.52°, γ = 102.65°.Both compounds are isotypical with each other; they form ion triples which originate from two short Na…F-contacts of 232 pm each with the four axially arranged fluorine ligands of the dimeric anions [WO2F3]22- and [WSOF3]22-, respectively. The dimerization takes place via angular fluoro bridges with W—F-bondings which are only slightly differing in length. The chalcogeno ligands are in the trans-positions to the bridging fluorine atoms.
    Notes: Die Reaktion von Natriumfluorid mit WSCl4 in Acetonitrillösung führt in Gegenwart von 15-Krone-5 schrittweise zu den Komplexen [Na-15-Krone-5][WSCl4F], [Na-15-Krone-5][WSCl2F3] und [Na-15-Krone-5][WSF5], die durch ihre IR-Spektren charakterisiert werden. Gitterkonstanten bei -65°C: a = 851,0; b = 1064,6; c = 1130,2 pm; α = 105,18°; β = 95,12°; γ = 102,48°. [Na-15-Krone-5]2[WOSF3]2 · 2 CH3CN: Raumgruppe P1, Z = 1, 2472 unabhängige beobachtete Reflexe, R = 3,0%. Gitterkonstanten bei -0°C: a = 856,3; b = 1062,8; c = 1181,1 pm; α = 107,68°; β = 95,52°; γ = 102,65°.Beide Verbindungen sind miteinander isotyp; sie bilden Ionentripel, die durch je zwei kurze Na…F-Kontakte von 232 pm mit den vier axial angeordneten Fluorliganden der dimeren Anionen [WO2F3]22- bzw.     Description / Table of Contents: Trimethylsilyl Substituted Amidinato Complexes of Thallium(III). The Crystal Structure of [Ph—C(NHSiMe3)2] [Ph—C(NSiMe3)2TlCl3]The amidinato complexes [Ph—C(NSiMe3)2TlCl3] and [Ph—C(NHSiMe3)2] [Ph—C(NSiMe3)2TlCl3] have been prepared by the reaction of TlCl3 with N,N,N′-tris(trimethylsilyl)benzamidine in THF solution. They were characterized by IR spectroscopy, [Ph—C(NHSiMe3)2] [Ph—C(NSiMe3)2TlCl3] additionally by an X-ray structure determination. Space group P21/c, Z = 4, 4300 observed unique reflexions, R = 0.053. Lattice dimensions at -43°C: a = 1157.2, b = 2346.3, c = 1536.9 pm, β = 105.98°. The structure consists of amidinium cations, and of anions [Ph—C(NSiMe3)2TlCl3]-, in which the thallium atom is fivefold surrounded by three chlorine atoms and by two nitrogen atoms of the amidinato chelate.

Raumgruppe P21/c, Z = 4, 4300 unabhängige beobachtete Reflexe, R = 5,3%. Die Gitterkonstanten betragen bei -43°C: a = 1157,2; b = 2346,3; c = 1536,9 pm; β = 105,98°. Die Verbindung besteht aus einem Amidiniumkation und einem [Ph—C(NSiMe3)2TlCl3]--Anion, in dem das Thalliumatom verzerrt trigonal-bipyramidal von drei Cl-Atomen und chelatartig von den beiden N-Atomen des Amidinatoliganden umgeben ist.

The Crystal Structures of [Sb2Cl5(NPMe3)2][SbCl6] · CH3CN and [SbCl(NPPh3)]2[SbCl6]2 · 6 CH3CNThe title compounds are formed by reaction of antimony pentachloride in acetonitrile solution with the phosphorane iminato complexes SbCl2(NPMe3) and SbCl2(NPPh3), respectively, which themselves are synthesized by reaction of antimony trichloride with Me3SiNPR3 (R = Me, Ph). The complexionic compounds are characterized by 121Sb Mössbauer spectroscopy and by crystal structure determinations.[Sb2Cl5(NPMe3)2][SbCl6] · CH3CN: Space group P41, Z = 4, 3 698 observed unique reflections, R = 0.022. Lattice dimensions at -60°C: a = b = 1 056.0(1), c = 2 709.6(2) pm. The structure consists of SbCl6- ions and cations [Sb2Cl5(NPMe3)2(CH3CN)]+, in which one SbIII atom and one SbV atom are bridged by the N atoms of the phosphorane iminato ligands.[SbCl(NPPh3)]2[SbCl6]2 · 6 CH3CN: Space group P1, Z = 2, 5 958 observed unique reflections, R = 0.033. Single crystals were obtained upon using additional diethylether.[Ca(DMF)6]Te4: Space group C2/c, Z = 4, 1024 observed unique reflections, R = 0.055. Lattice dimensions at -70°C: a = 1776.1; b = 813.0 c = 2545.9pm; β = 102.90°. The compound consists of centrosymmetric [Ca(DMF)6]2+ ions, in which the calcium ions are octahedrally coordinated by the six oxygen atoms of the DMF molecules, and chain-like Te42-[Sr)15-crown-5)2]Te4 · H2O: Space group C2/c, Z = 4, 3322 observed unique reflections, R = 0.058. Lattice dimensions at -70°C: a = 1450.5; b = 1407.3; c = 1660.9 pm; β = 110.22°. The compounds forms centrosymmetric cations [Sr(15-crown-5) 2]2+, in which the Sr2+ ion is sandwich-like surrounded by the ten oxygen atoms of the crown ether molecules, and chain-like Te42- ions, which are associated in the lattice forming polymeric chains.{[BaCl(18-crown-6)(DMF) 2]2[BaCl(18-crown-6)(DMF)· (H2O)] 2(Te4)2}: Space group P1, Z = 1, 3189 observed unique reflections, R = 0.054. Lattice dimensions at 19°C: a = 986.1; b = 1052.8; c = 2696.4 pm; α = 89.34°; β = 88.68°; γ = 89.56°. The compound consists of chain-like Te42- ions without symmetry and of the two somewhat different cations [BaCl(18-crown-6)(DMF) 2]22+, in which the Ba2+ ions dimerize via centroysmmetric rings. Along with the six oxygen atoms of the crown ether molecules and the oxygen atoms of the DMF molecules, the oxygen atoms of the DMF and water molecule, respectively, the Ba+ ions achieve coordination number ten.[Ph3PNPPh3]2Te5 · 2DMF: Space group Pc, Z = 2, 5971 observed unique reflections, R = 0.058. Lattice dimensions at 20°C: a = 20°C: a = 1085.2; b = 1287.0; c = 2715.9 pm; β = 90.19°. The compounds consists of [Ph3PNPPh3]+ ions, chain-like Te52- ions, and incorporate DME molecules without bonding interaction. The 52- ions are associate via polymeric chains in which left- and right handed individuals are alternating.

Die Verbindung besteht aus kettenförmigen Tetratelluridionen ohne Symmetrie und den beiden etwas verschiedenen Kationen [BaCl(18-Krone-6)(DMF)2]22+ und [BaCl(18-Krone-6)(DMF)(H2O)]22+. In diesen sind die Bariumionen zentrosymmetrisch über BaCl2Ba-Brücken dimerisiert, wodurch die Ba2+-Ionen mit den sechs O-Atomen des Kronenethers und den O-Atomen der DMF-Moleküle bzw. denen des DMF- und des H2O-Moleküls die Koordinationszahl zehn erreichen.[Ph3PNPPh3]2Te5 · 2 DMF: Raumgruppe Pc, Z = 2, 5971 beobachtete unabhängige Reflexe, R = 0,058. Gitterabmessungen bei 20°C: a = 1 085,2; b = 1 287,0; c = 2 715,9 pm; β = 90,19°. Die Verbindung besteht aus [Ph3PNPPh3]+-Ionen, kettenförmigen Pentatelluridionen und eingelagerten DMF-Molekülen ohne bindende Wechselwirkung. Die Te52--Ionen sind zu unendlichen Ketten assoziiert, wobei links- und rechtsdrehende Individuen einander abwechseln.
