Notes:
A systematic approach was utilized to deduce the relation between the programmed and isothermal retention indices in chromatography. The relation was given in the form of a chart from which the equivalent isothermal temperature Te is plotted vs ΔT′ with IP as the parameter. ΔT′ is a function of both the inlet and outlet temperatures during the temperature programmed run and Te is the temperature at which the isothermal index is equal to the programmed index IP.
