Durch eine Strahlumlenkung im Magnetfeld kann ein Elektromagnet ohne Durchbohren der Pole verwendet werden. Die Empfindlichkeit des Instruments beträgt etwa 0,66 · 10−3 Grad Elliptizität, das maximale Magnetfeld 20 kGauss.
    Notes: Abstract An instrument has been developed for the measurement of magnetic circular dichroism between 900 and 200 nm. A new method is described to bring the sample into a magnetic field parallel to the beam of light by a two-fold reflection between the pooles of the magnet. The typical sensitivity of the instrument is about 0.66×10−3 degree of ellipticity, the maximum magnetic field 20 kGauss.
