Abstract A series of iron-base alloys containing 18 wt.% Cr and 0.5 to 2 wt. % Si have been oxidized in air, in a H2/H2O environment ( $$P_{O_{_2 } } $$ =10−18 atm) and corroded in a H2/H2O/H2S environment ( $$P_{O_{_2 } } $$ =10−18 atm, $$P_{S_{_2 } } $$ .
