Notes: Correlations with reactivity constants and quantum chemical parameters were used to characterize the substituent effects on the 1H NMR spectra of a series of N,N-dimethylanilines and N,N-diethylanilines. The results indicate that the variations of the chemical shifts of the methyl and methylene protons are largely determined by resonance effects.
