Reaction of phosphorus pentasulphide with an excess of pyridine yields pentathiodiphosphoric P, P'-bis(pyrididium-betaine), [2 Py · P2S5], which reacts in pyridinic solution with POCl3 to form monothiophosphoric acid chloride-pyrididium-betaine, [Py · POSCl], and with PSCl3 to form dithiophosphoric acid chloride-pyrididiumbetaine, [Py · PS2Cl], [2 Py · P2S5] and [Py · POSCl] are supposed as intermediates of reorganisation reactions between P4S10 and POCl3 in presence of pyridine, which yields condensed thio-oxo-phosphoryl chlorides.

Die Reaktion von Phosphor(V)-sulfid mit überschüssigem Pyridin führt zum Pentathiodiphosphorsäure-P, P'-bis(pyrididiumbetain), [2 Py · P2S5], das in pyridinischer Lösung mit Phosphoroxidchlorid zum Monothiophosphorsäurechlorid-pyrididiumbetain, [Py · POSCl], und mit Phosphorsulfidchlorid zum Dithiophosphorsäurechlorid-pyrididiumbetain [Py · PS2Cl], reagiert. Bei der in Gegenwart von Pyridin durchgeführten Reorganisationsreaktion zwischen P4S10 und POCl3, die zu kondensierten Thio-oxo-phosphorylchloriden führt, treten [2 Py · P2S5] und [Py · POSCl] offenbar als reaktionsfähige Zwischenprodukte auf.
