Notes: The factors which could affect the molecular weight distribution of a fatty acid modified polyester (alkyd) are discussed. Specific studies on a 33% coconut oil/glycerol/phthalic anhydride polymer are described, and the effect of monoglyceride composition on alkyd distribution and film properties of an automotive baking enamel are considered.
