    Description / Table of Contents: Ca3Al2Ge3, a New Phase with a Threedimensional AlGe4-Tetrahedra NetworkThe new compound Ca3Al2Ge3 crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group Pnma with constants s. “Inhaltsübersicht”. In the structure there are AlGe4-tetrahedra, connected by common corners to a threedimensional net with tubelike holes, in which the Ca-atoms are located. The compound belongs to the Zintl phases.
    Notes: Die neue Verbindung Ca3Al2Ge3 kristallisiert orthorhombisch in der Raumgruppe Pnma mit den Gitterkonstanten a = 1 139, 5 ± 0,2 pm, b = 434,68 ± 0,08 pm, c = 1 483,3 ± 0,2 pm. In der Struktur sind AlGe4-Tetraeder über gemeinsame Ecken zu einem Raumnetzverband verknüpft, den röhrenartige Hohlräume durchziehen, in denen die Ca-Atome lokalisiert sind. Die Verbindung gehört zur Klasse der Zintlphasen.

Z = 2; a = 842(2) pm, c = 714(2) pm, c/a = 0,848. Die Strukturen aller dieser Verbindungen lassen sich als Varianten der TlSe-Struktur beschreiben.

Die Verbindung läßt sich dementsprechend als Valenzverbindung deuten.

There are two new structure types. Both contain Si2As6 or Ge2As6 groups connected to chains in different ways. These chains are ordered parallel to each other to sheets with the alkaline-earth atoms between them.

Diese Ketten sind einander parallel zu Schichten angeordnet, zwischen denen die Erdalkaliatome lokalisiert sind.
