Notes:
Carbonic acids in which the oxygen has been wholly or partly replaced by sulfur, selenium, and/or tellurium are known as “chalcogenocarbonic acids”. The aim of the present article is to review existing knowledge of these acids and so establish a basis for further systematic syntheses. The anions required for the synthesis of chalcogenocarbonic acids will also be briefly characterized.
