Description: The biomass of the pink shrimp Farfantepenaeus notialis present in Ana María gulf during the period 1997-2010, was determined by means of statistical analysis of capture for ages (SCA). The biomass was increased from the year 2008 due to the increase of the recruitment, which shows its biggest average annual values in July, November and March. The recruitspre-adults arrival to the fishing area occurs by two main zones, in front of Ana María keys, and in Sta. Cruz Abajo, at North of the South portion of the Doce Leguas keys. A fishery at the end of the year may provoke an over fishing of the growth and to affect the available biomass for the following year.
