    Notes: Novel Cu(II) complexes derived from N,N′ P-ethylene-bis-(1′,5′,5′-trimethyltetramic acid-3′-acetiminato)copper(II) aCu [1] were evaluated as contrast agents for NMR microscopy and therefore tested for penetration into living cells (Xenopus laevis oocytes). By in vitro 1H NMR relaxation (T1) and atomic absorption spectroscopy measurements (AAS) we confirmed, that independent of the complex isomers (Z/Z, Z/E, E/E, E/Z) compounds with alkyl substituents in R1 - R5 exclusively were able to penetrate the plasma membranes. It is noteworthy that compounds containing the tetramic acid moieties from both a penetrating and a non-penetrating complex most likely were accumulated in the plasma membrane and/or plasma membrane-associated vesicles, which was concluded from in vitro NMR measurements combined with AAS trace analyses. In this context the crystal and molecular structure of the ‘chimerical’ C17H22N4O4Cu · 3H2O kCu · 3H2O were determined by x-ray analysis. The x-ray structural parameters are discussed in detail.

    Description / Table of Contents: The geometric factor G [G = (3 cos2 θ -1) r-3] of selected protons relative to a centre of co-ordination [Eu(dpm)3] is determined using Dreiding models of different conformers of 1,3-aza- and 1,3-oxaphospholanes. The centre of co-ordination is supposed to be joined to the oxygen of the carbonyl group or to the nitrogen and oxygen in the hetero-ring, respectively. The graphs of the geometric factors against the paramagnetic shifts of the relevant protons are straight lines only for the preferred conformers on the basis of a correct centre of co-ordination.As a measure for the paramagnetic shift of a proton the slope of the graph of chemical shift against the concentration of Eu(dpm)3 (in mol %) is chosen. By variation of the relative configuration at C-5 in the models and calculation of the geometric factor, it is possible to determine the different diastereomers, which are distinguished by the relative position of the substituent at phosphorus and C-5.
    Notes: An Dreiding-Modellen der verschiedenen Konformere von 1,3-Aza- und 1,3-Oxaphospholanen werden die Geometriefaktoren G [G = (cos2θ - 1)r-3] einzelner Protonen bezüglich eines Koordinationszentrums [Eu(dpm)3] bestimmt. Das Koordinationszentrum wird entweder an dem Sauerstoff der Carbonylgruppe oder an dem Stickstoff oder Sauerstoff im Heteroring gebunden angenommen. Die graphische Darstellung der Geometriefaktoren gegen die paramagnetischen Verschiebungen der betreffenden Protonen ergibt nur für die bevorzugten Konformere bei Zugrundelegung der richtigen Koordinationszentren Geraden. Als Maßzahl für die paramagnetische Verschiebung eines Protons wird die Steigung der Geraden gewählt, die sich beim graphischen Auftragen der chemischen Verschiebung gegen den Gehalt an Eu(dpm)3 (in Mol-%) ergibt. Durch Variation der relativen Konfiguration am C-Atom 5 an den Modellen und Berechnung der Geometriefaktoren ist es möglich, die unterschiedlichen Diastereomere zuzuordnen, die sich bezüglich der Substituentenstellung am Phosphor und am C-Atom 5 unterscheiden.

    Description / Table of Contents: 5-Aza(oxa, thia)-2, 8-dithia-1-stanna(II)-bicyclo[3.3.01,5]octanes  -  Intramolecular Stabilized StannylenesBy the reaction of tin(II) butoxide with mercaptanes of the general type E(CH2—CH2SH)2 (E = N-t-Bu, NMe, O, S) at temperatures up to 50°C the 5-aza(oxa, thia)-2, 8-dithia-1-stanna(II)-bicyclo[3.3.01,5]octanes I - IV are obtained in high yields. The compounds are monomeric in solution. Contrary at higher reaction temperatures (80°C) the spiro-compounds of the type [E(CH2CH2S)2]2Sn (V - VIII) are formed. Some typical stannylene reactions of I - IV with BF3, Cr(CO)6, Br2, and PhS—SPh show the high reactivity of the compounds. Their structure is investigated by 1H, 13C, and 119Sn n.m.r., i.r., and Mössbauer spectroscopy.
    Notes: Durch Umsetzung von Zinn(II)-butoxid mit Mercaptanen des allgemeinen Typs E(CH2CH2SH)2 (E = N-t-Bu, NMe, O, S) werden bei Temperaturen bis 50°C die 5-Aza(Oxa, Thia)-2, 8-dithia-1-stanna(II)-bicyclo[3.3.01,5]octane in hohen Ausbeuten erhalten. Die Verbindungen sind monomer in Lösung. Bei höheren Reaktionstemperaturen (80°C) resultieren dagegen vorzugsweise die Spiroverbindungen des Typs [E(CH2CH2S)2]2Sn (V - VIII). Einige typische Stannylenreaktionen von I - IV mit BF3, Cr(CO)6, Br2 und PhS—SPh belegen die hohe Reaktivität der Verbindungen. Ihre Struktur wird durch 1H-, 13C-, 119Sn-NMR, IR- und Mößbauer-Spektren bewiesen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and Properties of Trinorbornyl Boron CompoundsTris(1-norbornyl), Tris(2-norbornyl), and Tris(7-norbornyl) boron were synthesized from boron trifluoride diethylether and 1-norbornyl lithium or 2- and 7-norbornyl magnesium halides respectively. The compounds were characterized by the IR-, 13C-, 11B-NMR, and mass spectra. Furthermore 1-norbornyl lithium was isolated in the crystalline state and investigated in detail.
    Notes: Tris(1-norbornyl)-, Tris(2-norbornyl)- und Tris(7-norbornyl)bor1 wurden aus Bortrifluorid-diethylether und 1-Norbornyllithium bzw. 2- und 7-Norbornylmagnesiumhalogeniden synthetisiert. Eine nähere Charakterisierung erfolgte durch IR-, 13C- und 11B-NMR- sowie Massenspektren. 1-Norbornyllithium wurde in kristalliner Form erhalten; die Verbindung liegt in Benzol tetramer vor. Das 13C-NMR-Spektrum wird angegeben.

    Description / Table of Contents: Intramolecular Mobility of Phosphin-3η-allyl Palladium Chloride ComplexesThe diastereomers of the complexes cis- and trans-2.3-diphenyl-1.3-oxaphosphorinan-3η-allyl palladiumchloride interchange. The activation parameters of the diastereomerization are estimated by line-shape analysis of the 31P - NMR signals.The exchange of allyl protons is described by 16 permutations involved in three graphes of the proposed seven modes of intramolecular movement.The cross-peaks in the 2D-exchange-1H - NMR spectrum display the exchanging protons.The results suggest a π-σ-transition together with a trigonal-bipyramidal arrangement of ligands in the transition state.
    Notes: Die Diastereomere der Komplexe cis- und trans-2,3-Diphenyl-1,3-oxa-phosphorinan-3η-allylpalladiumchlorid wandeln sich ineinander um. Die Aktivierungsparameter für diese Diastereomerisierung werden durch Linienformanalyse der 31P-NMR-Signale bestimmt.Der Positionswechsel der Allylprotonen wird durch 16 Permutationen beschrieben und in je drei Graphen den sieben vorgeschlagenen intramolekularen Bewegungsmechanismen zugeordnet. Aus den cross-peaks im 2D-Austausch-1H - NMR-Spektrum werden die miteinander im Positionswechsel befindlichen Protonen bestimmt.Die Ergebnisse sprechen für einen π-σ-Übergang mit trigonalbipyrymidaler Ligandenanordnung im Übergangszustand.

    Description / Table of Contents: Cis- and trans-1-Phosphabicyclo[4.4.0]decaneA mixture of cis-(5a) and trans-1-phosphabicyclo [4.4.0] decane 5b has been prepared by free-radical cyclization of (CH2 = CH—CH2—CH2)2CH—PH2 10. The isomers could be separated in a pure state. Stereostructures have been assigned by 13C n.m.r. at 153 - 302 K. Equilibration of 5a and 5b by u.v. irradiation gave ⊲G°35 ≍ 0 kJ ° mol-1 · Activation parameters for ring inversion of “cis” stereoisomer 5a and its “cis” P-sulfid 17a are found to be ΔG° = 41.9 kJ · mol-1 and 39.7 kJ · mol-1, respectively. Treatment of 5a and 5b with H2O2, sulfur, selenium, HSO3F, CH3I, CS2, and Ni(CO)4, respectively, yield the corresponding derivatives. 1H, 13C, 31P, 77Se n.m.r. and i.r. data are reported.
    Notes: Durch radikalische Cyclisierung von (CH2=CH—CH2—CH2)2CH—PH2 10 wird eine Mischung von cis- (5a) und trans-1-Phosphabicyclo[4.4.0]decan (5b) erhalten. Nach Trennung in die reinen Stereoisomeren konnten die Strukturen durch 13C-NMR-Spektren bei 153 - 302 K zugeordnet werden. Gleichgewichtseinstellungen 5a ⇌ 5b durch UV-Bestrahlung ergaben bei 35°C einen ⊲G°-Wert nahe Null. Die Aktivierungsparameter für die Ringinversion von 5a und seinem Sulfid 17a betragen ⊲G = 41,9 kJ · mol-1 bzw. 39,7 kJ · mol-1. Umsetzungen von 5a und 5b mit H2O2, Schwefel, Selen, HSO3F, CH3I, CS2 und Ni(CO)4 führten zu den entsprechenden Derivaten. Werte der 1H-, 13C-, 31P- und 77Se-NMR-Spektren sowie IR-Daten der LNi(CO)3 (L = 5a, 5b) werden mitgeteilt.

    Description / Table of Contents: 1,5-Diphosphabicyclo [3.3.1]nonane1,5-Diphosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane 8 has been obtained by free-radical cyclization of CH2=CHCH2(H)PCH2P(H)CH2CH=CH2 6 and 1-allyl-1,3-diphosphorinane 7. For the synthesis of 6 and 7 the chlorophosphine Cl2PCH2PCl2 1 is used as a starting material, which can be converted into Me2N(Cl)PCH2P(Cl)NMe2 3 by reaction with (Me2N)2PCH2P(NMe2)2 2. Treatment of 3 with two equivalents of allyl lithium and cleavage of the PN bonds in CH2=CHCH2(Me2N)PCH2P(NMe2)CH2CH=CH2 4 with diluted HCl affords CH2=CHCH2(H)(O)PCH2P(O)(H)CH2CH=CH2 5. Phenylsilane is used for the first time as a reducing agent to obtain a secundary phosphine like 6 from the secundary phosphine oxide (5). Prolonged heating increases the yield of the byproduct 7 in the mixture of 6 and 7. Reactions of the trivalent phosphorus in 8 with CS2, CH3I, POCl3, NO, sulfur, and KSeCN, respectively, delivers the corresponding derivatives 9-17. The compounds decribed are characterized by 1H, 13C, 31P, 77Se n.m.r., i.r., and m.s. data.
    Notes: 1,5-Diphosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan 8 wird durch radikalische Cyclisierung von CH2=CHCH2(H)PCH2P(H)CH2CH=CH2 6 und 1-Allyl-1,3-diphosphorinan 7 erhalten. Ausgangsmaterial für die Synthese von 6 und 7 ist Cl2PCH2PCl2 1, das mit (Me2N)2PCH2P(NMe2)22 quantitativ zu Me2N(Cl)PCH2P(Cl)NMe2 3 reagiert. Die Umsetzung von 3 mit zwei Äquivalenten Allyllithium zu CH2=CHCH2(Me2N)PCH2P(NMe2)CH2CH=CH2 4 und Abspaltung der Me2N-Schutzgruppen mit verdünnter Salzsäure liefert CH2=CHCH2(H)(O)PCH2P(O)(H)CH2CH=CH2 5. Dessen Reduktion zu 6 gelingt mit C6H5SiH3. Daneben entsteht 7, das durch längeres Erhitzen angereichert werden kann. Reaktionen des dreibindigen Phosphors in 8 mit CS2, CH3I, POCl3, NO, Schwefel und KSeCN führen zu den Derivaten 9-17. Die Verbindungen werden durch 1H-, 13C-, 31P- und 77Se-NMR-sowie IR- und MS-Daten charakterisiert.
