Reactions of Dilithiummethylen with Boron CompoundsThe reaction of Li2CH2 with BCl3, BBr3, B(OCH3)3, (CH3)2BBr, [(CH3)2N]2BCl,(CH3)2 NBCl2 and (CH3)3SiCl is reported. The first product R2B—CH2—BR2 is not stable and undergoes dismutation with formation of BR3 and (RBCH2)n. Only [(CH3)2N]2 B—CH2—B[N(CH3)2]2 could be isolated in poor yield besides the more stable trimer 1.3.5-Tris(dimethylamino)-1.3.5-triboracyclohexane (2). (CH3)3SiCl reacts with Li2CH2 to give in very good yield R3Si—CH2—SiR3.
Notes:
