Polyesters were prepared starting from 1,2-dihydronaphthalene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid, the anhydride of this acid, 1,4-dihydronaphthalene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid, the anhydride of 3,4-dihydronaphthalene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid, and 1,2-ethanediol. The polycondensate of 1,4-dihydronaphthalene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid can only be to copolymerizes with styrene.

Aus dem Monoäthylester der 1,2-Dihydronaphthalindicarbonsäure(1,2), aus dem Anhydrid dieser Säure, aus 1,4-Dihydronaphthalindicarbonsäure(1,2) und 3,4-Dihydronaphthalindicarbonsäure(1,2)-anhydrid wurden mit äthylenglykol Polyester dargestellt. Nur die Polykondensate der 1,4-Dihydronaphthalindicarbonsäure(1,2) lassen sich mit Styrol copolymerisieren.
