Notes: Abstract 3,3-Pentamethyleneoxaziridine, which is readily obtained by treatment of cyclohexanone with ammonia and sodium hypochlorite or hydroxylamine-O-sulfonic acid, reacts with olefins with transfer of the NH group to give aziridines. Aziridines were obtained from styrene, ring- or side-chain-substituted styrenes, norbornene, and acrylonitrile in 20–70% yields. Cyclohexene is doubly aminated to give N-aminoaziridine. Nitriles are formed from phenylacetylene and diphenylacetylene as a result of rearrangement.

Notes: Summary The heart beats of normal individuals of Triturus vulgaris L. and T. alpestris Laur. are irregular and can be altered by excitation of the animal. The frequencies vary with alterations in temperature according to the rule of van t'Hoff. The Q 10 was measured as 2.5 for T. vulgaris and 2.1 for T. alpestris. In anesthetized and in spinal animals the frequencies are strongly reduced and the pulsations become regular. Spinal animals show homolateral synchrony of the lymph heart beats. The motor centres, separated for each lymph heart, are situated in the spinal cord; the impulses are mediated by spinal nerves. The results are compared with those of the Anurans.

Notes: Summary In a clinical study we tested the following parameters: free fatty acids, beta-hydroxybutyrate, acid-base-balance, lactate, bilirubin, uric-acid, fructose, xylitole, glucose in blood and urine. The tests were executed in 9 patients who were undergoing stomac operations. The cardio pulmonary system of all patients was normal, and there was a homeostasis in water and electrolytes preoperatively. In combination with the amino-acids we received a ratio of 1/3n1/3n1 for glucose, levulose and xylitole. Totally, the patients received 0,36 g per kg body weight and per hour of carbohydrates. Beta-hydroxybutyrate, aceto-acetat, and free fatty acids show normal values under conditions of parenteral nutrition as well as lactate, uric acid, and acid-base-balance. The ratio of the different carbohydrates in serum and urine prove that the infusion time and volume were extremely favourable. The loss of carbohydrates in urine was very low.

Description / Table of Contents: Summary On 7 days — 5 postoperative — patients undergoingBillroth I orBillroth II were continously infused apparatively with an amino acid mixture of 100% and a glucose-xylitol-solution of 25% (group I). One group (group II) additionally received a serum protein solution. From the first preoperative day to the fifth day of the postoperative period we determined individual parameters in blood and urine. A decrease of serum phosphate level beginning on the first day after starting parenteral nutrition was observed. In the nitrogen balances, in total protein and albumin concentration there were no differences, but serum gamma-globulin concentration of group II was very low at the end of the parenteral nutrition period, a point which at present cannot be explained.

Notes: Abstract The two refractive indices in the flow of a colloidal birefringent liquid are measured separately by means of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. For a quantitative evaluation of the resulting interferograms it is not necessary to linearize the respective equations relating the refractive index distribution to the deformation velocity in the flow. Therefore it becomes possible to perform velocity measurements in the non-Newtonian flow range. An additional measurement of the mean flow rate enables one to determine the velocity field without the need of a calibration of the observed interference fringes.

Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Mit Tetrahydro-phthalazin lÄ\t sich Formaldehyd in schwach essigsaurer Lösung quantitativ fÄllen.
Notes: Summary Formaldehyde can be precipitated quantitatively with tetrahydrophthalazine in weak acetic acid solution. 8.6×10−6 g of formaldehyde/ml can be safely detected (concentration limit: 3.4×10−6 g/ml). Other aldehydes do not interfere. Methanol can be detected in aqueous solutions up to a dilution of 1∶2000 by oxidation to formaldehyde. The preparation of tetrahydro-phthalazine starting from phthalhydrazide and o-xylene is described.

Notes: Abstract The reaction of 2-butyl-3,3-(1′-heptyl)tetramethyleneoxaziridine with ferrous sulfate gave the N-butylamides of E- and Z-4-dodecenecarboxylic and E- and Z-5-dodecene-carboxylic acids in −1∶1 ratio. Analogously, 2-butyl-3,3-(1′-alkyl)pentamethy1-eneoxaziridines gave the N-butylamides of the corresponding E- and Z-unsaturated carboxylic acids.

Description: A data sample of events from proton-proton collisions with at least two jets, and two isolated same-sign or three or more charged leptons, is studied in a search for signatures of new physics phenomena. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of $$137{,{ext {fb}}^{-1}} $$137fb-1 at a center-of-mass energy of $$13,{ext {TeV}} $$13TeV, collected in 2016–2018 by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The search is performed using a total of 168 signal regions defined using several kinematic variables. The properties of the events are found to be consistent with the expectations from standard model processes. Exclusion limits at 95% confidence level are set on cross sections for the pair production of gluinos or squarks for various decay scenarios in the context of supersymmetric models conserving or violating R parity. The observed lower mass limits are as large as $$2.1,{ext {TeV}} $$2.1TeV for gluinos and $$0.9,{ext {TeV}} $$0.9TeV for top and bottom squarks. To facilitate reinterpretations, model-independent limits are provided in a set of simplified signal regions.
