    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Leukozytenbewegung wurde in Glaskammern während 24 h Inkubation beobachtet: die Kurve der Leukozytenbewegung besteht aus 2 Phasen, welche mittels 2 Exponentialgleichungen (durch das Wachstumsgesetz bestimmt) ausgedrückt werden können. In der vierten Stunde der Inkubation tritt eine Steigerung der Leukozytenbewegung auf. Die Leukozytenbewegung bei einer Temperatur von 30 und 40°C wurde mit der bei 37°C verglichen: Die Leukozytenbewegung ist bei 30°C langsamer und bei 40°C schneller als bei 37°C.

    Notes: Abstract A carbon polarimeter for proton polarization measurements at energies higher than 4 MeV has been designed. Considerable transmission has been attained by using a thick polarimeter target and larger scattering solid angles. The effective polarization value at the region ofE p from 4·6 to 6·0 MeV varies only slightly with energy and attains an average value ofP eff∼−0·8. Solid state detectors were used for proton recording. The instrument calibration curve was determined by means of a triple experiment.     Description / Table of Contents: Abstract The polarization of protons scattered elastically on carbon was measured by means of a cyclotron proton beam accelerated to 6.5 MeV. The following angular distribution was found in the energy interval from 3.60 to 4.52 MeV:P(40 lab ℴ )=0.30±0.05;P(45 lab o )=0.36±0.07;P(50 lab ℴ )=0.33±0.06;P(60 lab ℴ )=0.20±0.05. The results were compared with calculations given in the literature.

    Notes: Abstract Neutron activation analysis without radiochemical separation was used for simultaneous analysis of eight trace elements in thyroid glands, obtained as necroptic material from persons not suffering from diseases of this gland. Inorganic standard solutions were used for calculations of concentrations of measured elements. Concentrations are expressed in ppm, or ppb. IAEA reference materials were used for quality assurance of analyses. From analyses of 42 thyroids concentration levels of Se, Cs, Sc, Fe, Cr, Zn, Co, and Rb and their variances in the thyroids were calculated. These results might serve as comparison material for medical research of pathological and functional changes in thyroid glands.

    Notes: Abstract Time evolution of the cumulated activity in human body is one of the key characteristics determining medical impacts of ionizing radiation. In nuclear medicine, so called effective half-life is mostly used for describing the evolution. This quantity is usually estimated by fitting a straight line in semi-logarithmic coordinates. Its novel Bayesian estimate was also proposed and its advantageous properties were verified. During extensive tests, it was found that the effective half-life has limited use as the underlying deterministic relationship time-activity can hardly be taken as (mono)exponential. It stimulated the search for a better and still simple model. A quadratic dependence of ln (activity) on ln (time) was found as an adequate candidate. Preliminary experiments on a restricted set of real data were promising enough to justify its further elaboration. The paper reports on the progress made in verifying and exploiting this non-standard model. Its potential exploitation in dosimetric tasks is outlined. The core of the paper describes a positive verification of our results on an extensive set of real data.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Der Einfluß des Trägermaterials auf die Retentionsverhältnisse sowie auf die Retentionsindices der Methylester von Stearinsäure, Ölsäure, Linolsäure und Linolensäure bei 10%iger Belegung mit Apiezon L und Reoplex 400 wurde mit vierzehn Trägematerialien und einer Trennkapillare untersucht. Die folgenden Trägermaterialien erwiesen sich bei einer 10% igen Belegung mit Apiezon L als ungeeignet für die Analyse von Fettsäure-methylestern: Porovina, Rysorb BLK, Chezasorb II, Kieselgur, Celite 545, Celite Hyflo Super Cell und Chromosorb P, da diese partielle oder vollständige Adsorption hervorriefen.
    Abstract: Résumé L'effet du support (de phase fixe liquide) sur la rétention relative et sur les indices de rétention selon Kováts des stéarate, oléate, linoléate et linolénate de méthyle est étudié dans le cas de 14 supports differents et d'une colonne capillaire à film liquide; les phases fixes liquides utilisées sont l'Apiezon L (taux d'imprégnation: 10%) et le Reoplex 400. Certains supports (Porovina, Rysorb BLK, Chezasorb II, terre de diatomées, Celite 545, Celite Hyflo Super Cell et Chromosorb P) imprégné d'Apiezon L (10%), sont plus ou moins adsorbants et ne conviennent pas pour l'analyse des esters méthyliques d'acides gras.
    Notes: Summary The effect of the support on the retention ratios as well as retention indices of the methyl esters of stearic, oleic, linoleic, and linolenic acids at 10% loadings of Apiezon L and Reoplex 400 was studied on fourteen supports and a capillary column. The following supports were found unsuitable for the analysis of fatty acid methyl esters when coated with 10% Apiezon L: Porovina, Rysorb BLK, Chezasorb II (Czechoslovak products), Kieselguhr, Celite 545, Celite Hyflo (Super Cell), and Chromosorb P, since partial or complete adsorption came about on them.
