Description: The large-scale preparation of disorderly CNTs with a length larger than 3 mm using CVD method were aligned in polymer monomer airflow fields in a quartz tube with an internal diameter of 200 μm and a length of 1.5 m. The airflow aligned CNTs at the output end of the pipe connects to a copper nozzle with an electrostatic field of applied voltage 5x10 5 V/m and space length of 0.03 m, which were further realigned using via electrostatic spinning. End to end spray into the high speed rotor twisted single-stranded carbon nanotubes threads via rotor spinning technology. The essential component of this technique was the use of carbon nanotubes at a high rotory speed (200000 r/min) combined with the double twisting of filaments that were twisted together to increase the radial friction of the entire section. SEM micrography showed that carbon nanotube thread has a uniform diameter of approximately 200 μm. Its tensile strength was tested up to 2.7 Gpa, with a length of several...

Description: An advanced comprehensive test system, designed for testing synergetic erosion due to cavitation and sand abrasion in hydraulic machinery, is presented in this paper. This system includes an integrated test rig, control platform, and state-of-the-art measurement etc. For the integrated test system, there are three test modes, Venturi-section water tunnel, rotating disc and rotating disc with jet nozzle. The maximum velocity is 45 m/s for Venturi-section water tunnel test mode, and 85 m/s for rotating disc test mode. The pressure range for those two test modes can be regulated within -0.09 MPa~0.6 MPa. The highest flow relative velocity is 120 m/s for rotating disc with jet nozzle test mode. All key parameters measured from the test rig, such as flow discharge, pressure, sand concentration, temperature etc, can be displayed online and processed in the control platform. This new test system provides researchers with the possibility to measure cavitation erosion, sand abrasion and ...

Description: According to the energy method, the dynamic stability of a crane’s telescopic boom under the periodic load is studied, which is known as parametric resonance, based on the design code for a crane (GB/T3811-2008), the stability analysis model of the box telescopic boom can be regarded as variable-section stepped columns. The parametric vibration equation of n-stepped columns which expressed as Mathieu Equation is deduced by the Hamilton Principle, then the Critical frequency equation of dynamic instability regions of the telescopic booms are derived, finally, the effects of damping to the dynamic stability of telescopic boom are discussed. The results show that, the dynamic instability regions are reduced when the damping coefficient is increased and the effect on the second dynamic instability region is more obvious, that means damping improves the structure’s dynamic stability.

Description: Dry-type Air-core Reactor is widely used in power system. It is an important reactive power compensation equipment in power system. In recent years, the dry air reactor has suffered a number of failures in operation. The failure occurred most frequently in the dry-type air-core reactor and we cannot detect the inter-turn short circuit faults in neither single wire winding nor multiple wire windings. The research and protection of reactor faults is almost in the blank at present. This paper presents the method of collecting the unbalanced current between bus-bars to detect the winding inter-turn short circuit faults. The numerical simulation of short circuit model between different windings of the reactor is carried out. Current-differential analyzed on the unbalanced current data of experiment are used to determine whether an inter-turn short circuit occurs. The results indicated that the closer the short-circuit is to the end of the reactor, the greater the unbalance current is...

Description: With the urbanization development, urban rivers have experienced great changes in the form and stability in the past 60 years, and the problem of urban water ecological security has been highlighted. Using a compilation of research results from more than 100 studies conducted globally, this paper is intended to do the following: i) describe variable river responses to urbanization in terms of river morphology, runoff and sedimentation system, stability, and other mechanisms; ii) summarize three major river classification systems in terms of methods including form-based method, process-based method and synthesis method; iii) evaluate evaluating the advantages and disadvantages of the above mentioned methods in judging processes like the degradation of river form, studying river hydrological process, predicting time periods on river evolution. Given that the evolving urban streams pose huge challenges for city management, successful strategies require a clear understanding of chan...

Description: With the integration of large-scale wind power plants (WPPs), there is more and more demand for peak regulation service, and the peak regulation cost is increasing too. Reasonable calculation of peak regulation service cost caused by wind power generation (WPG) is the premise of stimulating conventional units to provide peak regulation services. After introducing the concept of peak regulation service in China, the impact of WPG on peak regulation is analyzed, and a quantitative model of peak regulation cost caused by WPG is put forward form the view point of the value of unit output adjustment. An optimization model with paid peak regulation is established to analyze the impact of WPG on peak regulation costs. The proposed method is tested on a 10-thermal power units system with WPPs, and the results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Description: Irrigation area is an important carrier, and also has a pivotal role in the construction of water ecological civilization in China, as well as worldwide. This work extracted the five basic characteristics of water ecological civilization of irrigated area, namely "resource saving, efficient production, ecological nature, beautiful environment, and civilized consciousness". Further, based on the frequency analysis of indicators related to the evaluation of irrigation area, we proposed the evaluation system of water ecological civilization of irrigated area. Taking an irrigation district of Huaian City, Jiangsu Province, China as an example, we carried out the case evaluation in use of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. Thus, we provide the theoretical and technical reference for the construction and assessment of water ecological civilization of irrigation district to both China and abroad.

Description: The liquid product obtained from biomass pyrolysis is very valuable that it could be used for extraction of chemicals as well as for liquid fuel. The desire goal is to obtain the most bio-oil with desired higher heating value (HHV), high physicochemical stability. The yields and chemical composition of products from biomass pyrolysis are closely related to the feedstock, pyrolysis parameters and catalysts. Current researches mainly concentrated on the co-pyrolysis of different biomass and introduce of novel catalysts as well as the combined effect of catalysts and pyrolysis parameters. This review starts with the chemical composition of biomass and the fundamental parameters and focuses on the influence of catalysts on bio-oil. What is more, the pyrolysis facilities at commercial scales were also involved. The classic researches and the current literature about the yield and composition of products (mainly liquid products) are summarized.

Description: The Weihe River Basin (WRB) is the largest tributary of the Yellow River and plays an irreplaceable role in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia area. In recent years, owing to the human activities and climate change, the runoff of the WRB has reduced, wherefore, it is necessary to analyze the impact on runoff quantitatively. By using the data of Huaxian and Zhuangtou stations, we can respectively calculate the changes in runoff for climate change and human activities via Budyko hypothesis. The trend of runoff, precipitation, temperature, potential evapotranspiration and the break points are examined by Mann-Kendall test (M-K method), cumulative anomaly method and ordered cluster analysis. The results show that the break points of runoff series in WRB are 1970 and 1989, so that the runoff series can be divided into the baseline period and the changed period. Based on the data of potential evapotranspiration and Budyko formula, the contribution rates of climate change and human activities t...
