Description: The article deals with the results of experimental research in the ultra-precision diamond machining of brittle materials - potassium dihydrogen phosphate, single-crystal quartz, quartz glass, crystalline glass, sapphire, and germanium. The processing modes at which the nanometer roughness of the processed surface was achieved are specified.

Description: The plane problem of motion control of a free-floating space robot is investigated. The robot is supposed to be in a state of passive flight. It is assumed that the vectors of momentum and kinetic moment of the robot equal to zero. The movement of the arm relative to the robot body changes the position of the center of masses of the body and leads to its rotation around the center of masses. There are constraints on the range of variation of the manipulator length and the angle of its rotation relative to the body. It is shown that while carrying out special movements of the manipulator, it is possible to ensure the movement of robot gripper from arbitrary initial to an arbitrary final position, if they are located inside the workspace, which is a ring with a centre in the centre of masses of the robot. Moreover, it is possible to get the desired value of the angle between the manipulator and the body in the final position.

Description: An experimental unit for studying the formation of gas hydrate suspensions and their transport properties is considered. The scheme of installation and the basic processes, which can be studied, are described. The results of studies of gas hydrates and a gas hydrate suspension’ formation in an adiabatic process in a stream of seawater are given. The adiabatic method of obtaining gas hydrates and forming gas hydrate suspensions is offered to use. Directions for further research are outlined.

Description: The procedure for forecasting the vibrational load influence upon passengers of trains of rolling stocks equipped with a system of a compulsory body tilt on railroad curves is offered. The procedure is based on the use of computer simulation methods and application of solid-state models of anthropometrical mannequins. As a result of the carried out investigations, there are substantiated criteria of the comfort level estimate for passengers in the rolling-stock under consideration. The procedure is approved by the example of the promising domestic rolling stock with a compulsory body tilt on railroad curves.

Description: The paper presents an algorithm for designing liquid small thrust rocket engine, the process of which consists of five aggregated stages with feedback. Three stages of the algorithm provide engineering support for design, and two stages - the actual engine design. A distinctive feature of the proposed approach is a deep study of the main technical solutions at the stage of engineering analysis and interaction with the created knowledge (data) base, which accelerates the process and provides enhanced design quality. The using multifunctional graphic package Siemens NX allows to obtain the final product –rocket engine and a set of design documentation in a fairly short time; the engine design does not require a long experimental development.

Description: The possibility of control of dynamical condition of the shakers that are designed for vibration treatment of parts interacting with granular media is discussed. The aim of this article is to develop the methodological basis of technology of creation of mathematical models of shake tables and the development of principles of formation of vibrational fields, estimation of their parameters and control of the structure vibration fields. Approaches to build mathematical models that take into account unilateral constraints, the relationships between elements, with the vibrating surface are developed. Methods intended to construct mathematical model of linear mechanical oscillation systems are used. Small oscillations about the position of static equilibrium are performed. The original method of correction of vibration fields by introduction of the oscillating system additional ties to the structure are proposed. Additional ties are implemented in the form of a mass-inertial device fo...
