    Beschreibung: Enhancing stall and surge margin has a great importance for the development of turbo compressors. The application of casing treatment is an effective measure to expand the stall margin and stable operation range. Numerical investigations were conducted to predict the performance of a low flow rate centrifugal compressor with circumferential groove casing treatment in vane diffuser. Numerical cases with different radial location, radial width and axial depth of a circumferential single groove and different numbers of circumferential grooves were carried out to compare the results. The CFD analyses results show that the centrifugal compressor with circumferential grooves in diffuser can extend stable range by about 9% while the efficiency over the whole operating range decreases by 0.2 to 1.7%.     Beschreibung: Abstract The physical parameterization of key processes in land surface models (LSMs) remains uncertain, and new techniques are required to evaluate LSMs accuracy over large spatial scales. Given the role of soil moisture in the partitioning of surface water fluxes (between infiltration, runoff, and evapotranspiration), surface soil moisture (SSM) estimates represent an important observational benchmark for such evaluations. Here, we apply SSM estimates from the NASA Soil Moisture Active Passive Level‐4 product (SMAP_L4) to diagnose bias in the correlation between SSM and surface runoff for multiple Noah‐Multiple Physics (Noah‐MP) LSM parameterization cases. Results demonstrate that Noah‐MP surface runoff parameterizations often underestimate the correlation between prestorm SSM and the event‐scale runoff coefficient (RC; defined as the ratio between event‐scale streamflow and precipitation volumes). This bias can be quantified against an observational benchmark calculated using streamflow observations and SMAP_L4 SSM and applied to explain a substantial fraction of the observed basin‐to‐basin (and case‐to‐case) variability in the skill of event‐scale RC estimates from Noah‐MP. Most notably, a low bias in LSM‐predicted SSM/RC correlation squanders RC information contained in prestorm SSM and reduces LSM RC estimation skill. Based on this concept, a novel case selection strategy for ungauged basins is introduced and demonstrated to successfully identify poorly performing Noah‐MP parameterization cases.

    Beschreibung: In the context of global climate change, human activities dramatically damage the consistency of hydrological time series. Peak Over Threshold (POT) series have become an alternative to the traditional Annual Maximum series, but it is still underutilized due to its complexity. Most literature about POT tended to employ only one threshold regardless of the non-stationarity of the whole series. Obviously, it is unwise to ignore the fact that our hydrological time series may no longer be a stationary stochastic process. Hence, in this paper, we take the daily runoff time series of the Yichang gauge station on the Yangtze River in China as an example, and try to shed light on the selection of the threshold provided non- stationarity of our time series.     Beschreibung: Since the clearance between the runner shroud and the hub can change with the angle of the blades, it has a great influence on the hydraulic characteristics and cavitation performance in the Kaplan Turbine. In this paper, the CFD will be used to solve the turbulence model based on the k-ωSST model in the entire flow field of the turbine and the Zwart-Gerber-Belamri model will be used to predict the cavitation. We compare the hydraulic characteristics and cavitation performance of the Kaplan Turbine under the conditions of the runner clearance exist or the runner clearance absence. Finally, we analysis the influence of the clearance width in the hydraulic performance and the relationship between the clearances and the turbine characteristics.

    Beschreibung: Aerodynamic design is a must and fundamental aspect for better performance of an aircraft. This work describes a framework for aerodynamic shape optimisation (ASO) based on high-fidelity Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses and an open source optimisation toolkit DAKOTA. The free form deformation (FFD) technique is adopted for parameterization of geometries, followed by a transfinite interpolation (TFI) method for grid deformation. CFD simulations are performed by full Navier-Stokes equations in conjunction with turbulence model. CFD, FFD and TFI modules are integrated with DAKOTA by a black-box interface, a pre-processing and a post-processing. The transonic RAE2822 airfoil is employed for demonstration of the effectiveness and capability of the developed framework.     Beschreibung: In this paper, a high speed reconfigurable control bits generation algorithm for cyclic shift operations is proposed. The algorithm utilizes the characteristics of routing information when Inverse Butterfly multi level network supports cyclic shift. Moreover, it also integrates a kind of cyclic shift operations together, including cyclic shift and sub-word cyclic shift based on a bit width of 2 i (i = 1, 2, …). Based on this, the shifter is implemented, and the logic synthesis is realized in the SMIC 65nm process. The results show that when the proposed unit only supports cyclic shift operations, enhances the frequency by 3.6% ∼ 8.6% and reduces the area by1.4% ∼ 32%, compared with previously proposed solutions. When achieving a variety of cyclic shift operations, the frequency of our unit enhances the frequency by 5% and reduces the area by 6%.

    Beschreibung: The comprehensive utilization of tailings mud has become a common concern of the society. The properties of tailings mud produced from Huzhou city were analyzed in this work. Moreover, porous ceramics with high strength were prepared by using the tailings mud as main raw material and adding a small amount of foaming agent. The results show that the foaming agent contents have a certain effect on the porosity and compressive strength of the porous ceramic samples. These results provided a certain theoretical basis for the comprehensive utilization of tailings mud and solve the pollution of tailings mud to the environment.

    Beschreibung: Sino-Russian natural gas cooperation has an important impact on natural gas trade in both Russia and China. Based on the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI), this paper has established a natural gas import and export security evaluation system to scientifically assess Sino-Russian gas cooperation with respect to the Sino-Russian natural gas structure and situation under the influence of different factors. The research shows: the diversification of natural gas imports in China has gradually increased.     Beschreibung: Random Forest is a combination classification model based on classification and regression tree. RF model can deal with nonlinear problem, therefore, it is able to predict drought. In this paper, RF model is used to forecast drought on the Huaihe River Basin where more and more serious droughts occur. The runoff of twenty-one stations can reflect the overall drought level on Huaihe River. First, the drought has been divided into three levels depending on the SPI criteria. Then, the most important thirty factors are selected as model variables according to the Incnodepurity index after selecting preliminary screening sets. Furthermore, analysis of the drought level of the hydrological stations during the period from 1963 to 2013 is carried out with RF model. The result shows the average accuracy rate of prediction is 73%. The RF drought model is demonstrated as a new effective drought prediction model to reduce or eliminate the loss caused by drought.
