Description: This paper proposes a novel method of locating the disturbance source of forced power oscillation based on equivalent electrical distance. Firstly, actual grid nodes are mapped onto complex plane on the basis of equivalent electrical distance theory. Secondly, PMU monitoring nodes are selected according to the defined index of coupling degree of generator and load. Lastly, the disturbance source is effectively located by resolving optimization problem based on Geiger theory on seismology and the half-plane method. This proposed method can be implemented by acquiring and analyzing waveforms of frequency variance of several monitoring nodes, and is of great practical value for actual grid. A simulation for IEEE 30-buses system verified the validity and accuracy of this locating method.

Description: In order to solve the problem that special test equipment can't test multiple or multiple devices at the same time, a distributed synthetic instrument testing device based on FPGA is designed. A synthetic instrument testing unit based on FPGA and a main control unit of synthetic instruments based on ARM are designed. The test equipment group implements the distributed test platform through the way of network sharing. The structure and working process of the distributed synthetic instrument detector are designed. Through the reset circuit of FPGA system, the functions of a single test device to detect multiple devices are realized. The system running test shows that the system runs stably, and the system design is reasonable and feasible.

Description: With the ever-increasing enhancement of living standards, indoor air quality has been drawing more and more attention, due to the conditions of indoor environment with significant relevance to human growth development, health and work efficiency. The quality of indoor environment has a direct impact on the quality of people’s life, and even concerns the issue of human survival. In consequence, the pervasive and exponentially increasing indoor air data presents imminent challenges to how to monitor and evaluate the indoor environment parameters, and create a comfortable, quiet and clean indoor environment, which is indispensable based on data mining methods in the context of big data. This paper focuses on two methods of nonlinear feature extraction: Kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) and PCA. Experimental results demonstrate that the recognition accuracy of feature extraction-based KPCA is superior to that of PCA.

Description: The participation of individuals in multi-layer networks allows for feedback between network layers, opening new possibilities to mitigate epidemic spreading. For instance, the spread of a biological disease such as Ebola in a physical contact network may trigger the propagation of the information related to this disease in a communication network, e.g. an online social network. The information propagated in the communication network may increase the awareness of some individuals, resulting in them avoiding contact with their infected neighbors in the physical contact network, which might protect the population from the infection. In this work, we aim to understand how the time scale γ of the information propagation (speed that information is spread and forgotten) in the communication network relative to that of the epidemic spread (speed that an epidemic is spread and cured) in the physical contact network influences such mitigation using awareness information. We begin ...

Description: Fucoxanthin is a carotenoid which occurs in marine brown algae and exerts multiple beneficial effects on human health, including the anti-diabetic, anti-obesity, anti-cancer, and antioxidant. The aim of this study was to maximise the extraction yield of fucoxanthin from laminaria japonica. By using microwave synergistic enzyme method, the extraction condition, namely the enzyme amount, complex enzyme ratio and microwave temperature were investigated and optimized with Response surface methodology (RSM) combined with Box- Behnken design (BBD). Microwave temperature was found to have the most significant effect on fucoxanthin extraction yield. With the optimized process parameter of extraction in this work, extraction yield of 0.443mg fucoxantun /g dry aigae was obtained by 0.14g enzyme, complex enzyme ratio (pectinase : cellulase) of 1.12 and microwave temperature at 42.6°C. Therefore, with higher efficiency and low energy consumption system this method can be ...

Description: Quantum walks are a useful platform for studying high-efficiency energy transport. In this paper, we study the probability transfer in the discrete-time quantum walk (DTQW) in detail. With intricate design of the initial state, the probability transfer in the DTQW system can exhibit similar behaviors to those in continuous-time quantum walks (CTQWs). Furthermore, without the assumption of a biased initial state and coupling to the environment in the DTQW system, we explore how to achieve directed probability transfer in the DTQW and find that it is closely connected to the time-reversal symmetry of the effective Hamiltonian of the walk. We find that regardless of whether the number of vertices in the DTQW is even or odd, we can control the probability transfer in the DTQW by modulating the time-reversal symmetry of the system. Such control of directed probability transfer can only work well in a CTQW with odd vertices. Even when temporal or spatial disorder emerges in the DTQW, ...

Description: For precision compression glass molded lenses, surface deviation is vital for the quality check. In this research, the effects of cooling rates on the prediction of surface deviation in glass lenses by precision compression molding were studied. Two types of cooling method with many different cooling rates were investigated. Based on the simulation results, two steps cooling method is better. And slower the cooling rate cause larger surface deviation.
