Description: Reservoir pore space assessment is of great significance for petroleum exploration and production. However, it is difficult to describe the pore characteristics of deep-buried dolomite reservoirs with the traditional linear method because these rocks have undergone strong modification by tectonic activity and diagenesis and show significant pore space heterogeneity. In this study, 38 dolostone samples from 4 Cambrian formations of Tarim Basin in NW China were collected and 135 thin section images were analyzed. Multifractal theory was used for evaluation of pore space heterogeneity in deep-buried dolostone based on thin section image analysis. The physical parameters, pore structure parameters, and multifractal characteristic parameters were obtained from the digital images. Then, the relationships between lithology and these parameters were discussed. In addition, the pore structure was classified into four categories using K-means clustering analysis based on multifractal parameters. The results show that the multifractal phenomenon generally exists in the pore space of deep-buried dolomite and that multifractal analysis can be used to characterize the heterogeneity of pore space in deep-buried dolomite. For these samples, multifractal parameters, such as αmin, αmax, ΔαL, ΔαR, Δf, and AI, correlate strongly with porosity but only slightly with permeability. However, the parameter Δα, which is usually used to reveal heterogeneity, does not show an obvious link with petrophysical properties. Of dolomites with different fabrics, fine crystalline dolomite and medium crystalline dolomite show the best petrophysical properties and show significant differences in multifractal parameters compared to other dolomites. More accurate porosity estimations were obtained with the multifractal generalized fractal dimension, which provides a new method for porosity prediction. The various categories derived from the K-means clustering analysis of multifractal parameters show distinct differences in petrophysical properties. This proves that reservoir evaluation and pore structure classification can be accurately performed with the K-means clustering analysis method based on multifractal parameters of pore space in deep-buried dolomite reservoirs.

Description: HIGEE (High Gravity Rotary Device) rotating oil purifier which consists of two parts: hydrocyclone separator and rotating packed bed (abbr. RPB) is considered to be capable of removing the solid particle contaminant, moisture and gas simultaneously. As the major unit of HIGEE, the RPB uses centrifugal force to intensify mass transfer. Because of the special structure of RPB, the hydraulic characteristics of the RPB are very important. In this study, the multiphase flow model in porous media of the RPB is presented, and the dynamical oil-water separation in the RPB is simulated using a commercial computational fluid dynamics code. The operating conditions and configuration on the hydraulic performance of the RPB are investigated. The results have indicated that the separation efficiency of HIGEE rotating oil purifier is predominantly affected by operating conditions and the configurations. The best inlet pressure is 0.002 MPa. When the liquid inlet is placed in the outside of the lower surface of RPB; oil outlet is placed in the upper surface, where it is near the rotation axis; and water outlet is placed in the middle of the RPB, where it is far away from the oil outlet, the separating efficiency is the best.

Description: In the method of target localization based on magnetic anomalies, the scheme of vector field localization and experimental research are significant. Because more information of magnetic field can be measured by vector sensors, the position of the target can be directly calculated by the equations. However, the vector magnetic anomaly generated by the target is difficult to measure. And the detection range is small due to the low sensitivity of vector sensors. A method for target localization based on the total geomagnetic field is proposed. Its advantages are that the measurement of total magnetic field is not affected by the orientation of the total field sensors and the detection range is large due to their high sensitivity. In this paper, we focus on the localization using the array with the total field magnetometers. And we design an array structure with the total field magnetometers. Then, we obtain the higher order nonlinear equations for the target localization based on this array. The numerical method is used to solve the equations. Meanwhile, we present a method for eliminating the effect of geomagnetic field variations and uneven spatial distribution. In suburban roads, localization experiments were carried out. And the results showed that the relative error of target localization is less than 5% by using the proposed method.

Description: The orientation of a vector magnetic sensor can affect the measurement accuracy of magnetic anomaly, thereby increasing the localization error of a magnetic target. Compared with vector magnetic sensor, the measurement of the scalar magnetic sensor is almost not influenced by its orientation. Therefore, we present a method for tracking the magnetic target with a static scalar magnetometer array. In this study, the magnitude of the target’s magnetic moment is a key parameter. We isolate it and formulate an optimization problem based on it to estimate the position and magnetic parameters of the target. To calculate the solution of this optimization problem, a dedicated particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is developed. Then, we define a quality index to evaluate the solution calculated by the optimization problem. The proposed method was validated by the simulation and the real data collected when an SUV car was passing by the array on a straight path. The results show that the tracked trajectory is very close to the true trajectory and the quality index can be used as a criterion to allow accepting or rejecting the localization of the target.

Description: A method of locating a magnetic target based on geomagnetic total field is proposed. In the method, a conjugate gradient algorithm is introduced to eliminate the time-varying and uneven spatial distribution of geomagnetic total field. Then a structure of the measuring array of geomagnetic total field is designed. In the measuring array, the array aperture is a primary factor for the conjugate gradient algorithm. To determine an optimal aperture, we analyze the relationship between the array aperture and the localization accuracy. According to the localization theory based on geomagnetic total field, we simulate the process of determining an optimum array aperture. Based on the simulation, we propose the basis and principle of determining the optimum array aperture. To prove it, we use optically pumped magnetometers with different array apertures to carry out the experiments of locating a car in a suburb. Through the experiment, we get the experimental relationship between apertures and location accuracy. And the relationship agrees with the theory. The result shows that the method is feasible to determine the optimum aperture.

Description: The paper studies the existence of exponential attractor for the Boussinesq equation with strong damping and clamped boundary conditionutt-Δu+Δ2u-Δut-Δg(u)=f(x). The main result is concerned with nonlinearitiesg(u)with supercritical growth. In that case, we construct a bounded absorbing set with further regularity and obtain quasi-stability estimates. Then the exponential attractor is established in natural energy spaceV2×H.

Description: Mn-doped CeO2flower-like microstructures have been synthesized by a facile method, involving the precipitation of metallic alkoxide precursor in a polyol process from the reaction of CeCl3·7H2O with ethylene glycol in the presence of urea followed by calcination. By introducing manganese ions, the composition can be freely manipulated. To investigate whether there was a hybrid synergic effect in CH4combustion reaction, further detailed characteristics of Mn-doped CeO2with various manganese contents were revealed by XRD, Raman, FT-IR, SEM, EDS, XPS, OSC, H2-TPR, and N2adsorption-desorption measurements. The doping manganese is demonstrated to increase the storage of oxygen vacancy for CH4and enhance the redox capability, which can efficiently convert CH4to CO2and H2O under oxygen-rich condition. The excellent catalytic performance of MCO-3 sample, which was obtained with the starting Mn/Ce ratios of 0.2 in the initial reactant compositions, is associated with the larger surface area and richer surface active oxygen species.
