Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary 1. Deoxyribonucleoprotein, bronchial mucoprotein, fibrinogen and carboxymethyl-cellulose form oriented fibrous inclusions in a wide range of ionic crystals. 2. Fibrous inclusions form in crystals of various symmetry classes, but the phenomenon is particularly evident with the alkali halides, crystallising in hopper form. The fibres are then contained in (001) cubic planes, and follow the cleavage planes of the [100] cube faces. 3. Habit modification of the crystals does not occur.
