Summary Prolonged thioacetamide administration to albino rats causes in the liver marked proliferative phenomena, which begin in the portal tracts as relatively undifferentiated plasmodial cells. These later arrange themselves in solid or hollowed tubules, which are accompanied by reticular and collagen fibers, altering the normal structure of the liver. In some cases, bile duct—adenomata were evident.
