1. A manganous manganite with a very low degree of disorder is described with the composition: 4 MnO2, Mn(OH)2, 2H2O. It is formed by recrystallisation of dry 3 MnO2, Mn(OH)2, xH2O, or in direct preparation by oxydation of Mn(OH)2 with oxygen in alkaline solution. The X-ray diffraction pattern obtained with the powder method of Debye-Scherrer shows sharp lines. The possible hexagonal indication leads to a double-layer structure.
