The alkali periodates formed from aqueous solutions are investigated. 10 salts are firstly prepared (see „Inhaltsübersicht“). The existence of K3H2JO6 · 3 H2O is confirmed. The constitution of the new compounds is deduced from their infrared spectra.For the most part, the meso-periodates are instable in the solid state and form spontaneously para-periodates. In weakly basic aqueous solutions, however, HJO52--ions probably are predominant.

Die aus wäßriger Lösung sich bildenden Alkaliperjodate werden erneut untersucht. Erstmalig dargestellt werden die Salze Li2HJO5 · 8 (4) H2O, Li3JO5 · Li2HJO5 · 11 H2O, Na2HJO5 · 4 H2O, Na3JO5 · Na2HJO5 · 14 H2O, Na3H2JO6 · H2O, K5JO6 · 5,5 H2O, (NH4)2HJO5, KNH4HJO5 · H2O und KNH4H3JO6. Die Existenz des K3H2JO6 · 3 H2O wird bestätigt. Die Konstitution der neuen Verbindungen wird aus ihren Ultrarotspektren abgelesen.Die Mesoperjodate mit koordinativ fünfzähligem Jod sind im festen Zustand meist instabil und gehen spontan in die entsprechenden Orthoperjodate mit koordinativ sechszähligem Jod über. In schwach alkalischen Perjodatlösungen sind dagegen wahrscheinlich überwiegend HJO52--Ionen vorhanden.
