    Description / Table of Contents: Raman- and Infrared-Spectra of B2(OCH3)4 and B2[N(CH3)2]4 in the liquid state have been examined. An assignment of frequencies was made by the aid of selection rules, calculation of frequencies and spectra of related compounds. It is concluded, that B2(OCH3)4 has a planar arrangement of the sceletal atoms, with the point-group C2h. The force-constant kBO is somewhat higher than in the compound B(OCH3)3. In B2[N(CH3)2]4, the NC2. and the BN2-groups are twisted against the molecular plane.
    Notes: Es wurden die Raman- und Infrarotspektren der Verbindungen B2(OCH3)4 und B2[N(CH3)2]4 an den flüssigen Phasen gemessen. Die Zuordnung der Spektren, die sich auf Auswahlregeln, Modellberechnungen und Vergleichsspektren stützt, ermöglicht für B2(OCH3)4 den Schluß auf eine ebene Anordnung aller Gerüstatome entsprechend einer Punktgruppe C2h. Die Kraftkonstante KBO ist etwas größer als im B(OCH3)3. Für B2[N(CH3)2]4 muß eine Struktur angenommen werden, bei der die einzelnen NC2-Gruppen und die BN2-Gruppen jeweils gegeneinander verdrillt sind.

    Description / Table of Contents: The action of sulfur on alkalimetalborohydrides has been studied. LiBH4 reacts with sulfur in ether solution giving hydrogen, lithium sulfide and LiB3S2H6. In the absence of a solvent, sulfur and the alkalimetal borohydrides form metathioborates, MeBS2, at temperatures above 200 °C.
    Notes: Lithiumboranat reagiert mit Schwefel in Ätherlösung unter Wasserstoffentwicklung zu Lithiumsulfid und der Verbindung LiB3S2H6. In Abwesenheit eines Lösungsmittels erhält man aus Schwefel und den Alkaliboranaten oberhalb von 200°C Alkalimetathioborate MeBS2.

    Description / Table of Contents: Alkyl-bis(dimethylamino) boranes can be obtained by solvolysis of alkyl boron dichlorides in dimethyl amine, or by alkylation of bis(dimethylamino)-chloro-borane with alkyl lithium. Their reactions with HCl, HBr and HJ was studied.
    Notes: Alkyl-bis(dimethylamino)((dimethylamino))borane erhält man bei der Dimethylaminolyse von Alkylbordichloriden oder bei der Alkylierung von Bis(dimethylamino)-chloroboran mit Alkyl-Lithium. Ihr Verhalten gegenüber den Halogenwasserstoffen HCl, HBr und HJ wurde untersucht.

    Description / Table of Contents: Comproportionation of alkylborondihalides with alkyl-bis(dimethylamino)-boranes yields alkyl-dimethylamino-boronhalides, RB(X)NMe2. These dimerize more readily as the carbon chain of the alkyl groups and the size of the halogen atom decreases. The halogen atom in monomeric RB(X)NMe2 is easily replaced by other ligands.
    Notes: Alkyl-dimethylamino-borhalogenide, RB(X)NMe2, (X = Cl, Br) sind durch Komproportionierung von Alkylbordihalogeniden mit Alkyl-bis(dimethylamino)-boranen zugängig. Mit abnehmender Kettenlänge der Alkylgruppe und abnehmendem Radius des Halogens wächst die Tendenz zur Dimerisierung der monomeren Verbindungen. In diesen sind die Halogenatome leicht substituierbar.

    Description / Table of Contents: Aminolysis of AsCl3 or transamination of As(NMe2)3 with methyl amine, n-butyl amine, and iso-propyl amine yields the alkylimino-arsanes As4(NMe)6, As4(N-i-Pr)6, and As4(N-n-Bu)6 having an adamantane-like structure. Contrary to these results is the aminolysis of AsCl3 by tert.-butyl amine, which gives tert.-butylamino-tert.-butyl-imino-arsane (t-BuNHAs-N-t-Bu)2. Selective cleavage of the As-X-bonds in As4(NMe)6 by HCl leads to As4(NMe)5Cl2 or (MeNAsCl)3. With CS2, exchange of sulfur for RN groups in As4(NR)6 (R = Me, n-Bu) occurs with formation of alkyl-isothiocyanates and alkylimino-arsenic sulfides.
    Notes: Bei der Aminolyse von AsCl3 und der Umaminierung von As(NMe2)3 mit Methylamin, n-Butylamin und i-Propylamin entstehen die Alkylimino-arsane As4(NMe)6, As4(N-i-Pr)6 und As4(N-n-Bu)6 mit Adamantanstruktur. Dagegen ergibt die Aminolyse von AsCl3 mit tert.-Butylamin dimeres (t-BuNHAs-N-t-Bu)2. Die selektive Abspaltung der MeN-Gruppen aus As4(NMe)6 durch HCl führt zu den Verbindungen As4(NMe)5Cl2 bzw. (MeNAsCl)3. CS2 reagiert mit As4(NR)6 (R = Me, n-Bu) unter Bildung von Senfölen und Alkyliminoarsen-sulfiden.

    Description / Table of Contents: Bis(dialkylamino) boranes, (R2N)2BH, are easily prepared either by hydrogenation of the corresponding chlorides, (R2N)2BCl, by means of LiH or by transamination of [(CH3)2N]2BH. From the reaction products and two moles of HCl, dialkylammonium chlorides and the easily dimerizing dialkylamino chloroboranes, R2NB(H)Cl, are obtained. These react, in the monomeric form, with further HCl to R2NH · B(H)Cl2. In contrast with the other bis(dialkylamino)-boranes, [(CH3)2N]2BH reacts with HCl without any cleavage of the B-N bond yielding the salt [Cl(H)B(NHMe2)2]Cl.
    Notes: Bis(dialkylamino)-borane, (R2N)2BH, sind durch Hydrierung von Bis(dialkylamino)chloroboranen mit Lithiumhydrid in Äther und durch Umaminierung von Bis(dimethylamino)-boran leicht zugänglich. Bei der Umsetzung der Bis(dialkylamino)-borane mit 2 Mol HCl erhält man Dialkylaminhydrochloride und Dialkylamino-chloro-borane, R2NB(H)Cl, die sich leicht dimerisieren. An die monomeren Verbindungen lagert sich HCl zu R2NH · B(H)Cl2 an. Im Gegensatz zu den anderen Bis(dialkylamino)-boranen reagiert (Me2N)2BH mit HCl ohne Spaltung der B-N-Bindung zu dem Salz [Cl(H)B · (NHMe2)2]Cl.

    Description / Table of Contents: Symmetrical dialkyl-bis(dimethylamino)-diborons, R(Me2N)B-B(NMe2)R, are obtained by dehalogenation of RB(NMe2)Cl with sodium-potassium alloy. The B-B bond in these compounds is more stable than that in B2(NMe2)4. Nucleophilic and electrophilic substitutions are generally accompanied by extensive disproportionation of the diboron compounds.
    Notes: Durch Dehalogenierung von RB(NMe2)Cl2) mit Natrium-Kaliumlegierung erhält man thermisch relativ stabile Dialkyl-dibor-bis(dimethylamide), R(Me2N)B-B(NMe2)R. Die B-B-Bindung ist in diesen Verbindungen wesentlich reaktionsfähiger als die in B2(NMe2)4. Nucleophile und elektrophile Substitutionen an R2B2(NMe2)2 sind von einer Disproportionierung der Diborverbindung begleitet.

    Description / Table of Contents: Tris(dialkylamino)-arsanes result besides dimethylamine in the action of secondary amines on As(NMe2)3. while phthalimide gives a polymeric Me2NAsNC(O)C6H4C(O)NMe2.Transamination of As(NMe2)3 with compounds containing a primary aminogroup yields four-membered As—N ring compounds (Me2NAsNR)2 (R = Ph, C(O)Ph, tert-Bu, NMe2). Part of these compounds were prepared from the appropriate amine and (Me2N)2AsCl and Me2NAsCl2, respectively.
    Notes: Sekundäre Amine reagieren mit As(NMe2)3 zu Dimethylamin und Tris(dialkylamino)-arsane As(NR2)3 (R = Ät, n-Bu; R2 = C5H10), während mit Phthalimid polymeres Me2NAsNC(O)C6H4C(O)NMe2 entsteht.Durch Umaminierung von As(NMe2)3 mit primären Ammoniakderivaten sind viergliederige As—N-Heterocyclen (Me2NAsNR)2 (R = Ph, C(O)Ph, tert-Bu, NMe2) darstellbar, die z. T. auch bei der Aminolyse von (Me2N)2AsCl oder Me2NAsCl2 erhalten wurden.
