As and Sb form mixed crystals with some chalcogenides of fourth-group elements (boundaries of miscibilities see above). The lattice constants vary linearly or mostly linearly with the composition, only a, however, according to VEGARD'S law.SnTe has a phase range from about Sn1.02Te0.98 to Sn0.98Te1.02.The large regions of mixed crystal formation indicate the similarity of bond types in both metals and the semiconducting chalcogenides.

Arsen und Antimon bilden Substitutionsmischkristalle mit einigen Chalkoniden der 4. Hauptgruppe. Die Grenzen der Mischbarkeit sind:AsAs-GeTe 63:37; AsAs-GeSe 70:30; SbSb-GeTe 63:37; SbSb-SnTe 77:23 (Mol-%).Die Gitterkonstanten ändern sich linear oder fast linear mit der Zusammensetzung, aber nur a entsprechend der VEGARDschen Regel, α aber nicht. Das SnTe besitzt eine Phasenbreite von etwa Sn1,02Te0,98 bis Sn0,98Te1,02. Die ausgedehnte Mischkristallbildung beweist die Verwandtschaft des Bindungstyps in den beiden Metallen und in den halbleitenden Chalkoniden.
