Notes:
Summary Attention is drawn to a topical problem of brain physiology in connection with the convergence of afferent nervous activity. Anatomical and electrophysiological evidence is related to the psychological experience, which is induced by peripheral sensory stimuli of different localization and quality. The conclusion is that conscious perception of external stimuli correlates with the integrated patterns of nervous activity thus induced.
