Notes: [Auszug] On staining the sections made from the same tissue blocks with Li son's toluidine blue (differentiated and dehydrated with alcohol, cleared in xylol and mounted in balsam), it was found that the above cells corresponded morphologically and in distribution to the mast cells which were prominently ...

Notes: [Auszug] Of forty-five specimens collected from different parts of Calcutta and examined, thirty-six adult insects and nymphs harboured in their guts a large number of trypanosomes in various stages of development. For the purpose of observation each insect was treated in the following manner. The entire ...

Notes: [Auszug] This work appears to have aroused interest, but, in the cases known to us, workers elsewhere have not been able to obtain significantly beneficial results3.4. In these latter investigations a ball mill was used, and it is of interest that the first exploratory work at Leeds was carried out with a ...

Notes: [Auszug] Entamceba histolytica, strain E.H. 1, was used in this work. The associated bacterial flora in the culture were Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas pyo-cyaneus. Ent. histolytica grown in Row's haemoglobin media at 37 C. for 48 hr. was treated with dihydro-streptomycin sulphate to kill the ...

Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Das strukturviskose Verhalten von gelierenden Eisensuccinat-Solen wurde untersucht.
Notes: Summary The pseudoplastic properties of gel forming ferric succinate sols have been investigated. It has been shown that pseudoplasticity is intimately related to the tendency of a sol to form a gel. Whenever the conditions favour the development of pseudoplastic property, the sol has a greater approach to gel structure, which becomes more powerful when the sol takes up the property of an elastic solid. Further, it is seen that viscosity increases rapidly with age in the pure sols of ferric succinate.

Notes: Summary From the study of Congo red adsorption on hydrous chromium oxide it is concluded that: 1. The adsorption of Congo red by hydrous oxide is an exothermal process; 2. The heat of adsorption values are low, it increases with increasing coverage and then passes from a maxima showing that the surface is heterogeneous. It further suggests that the adsorption of Congo red by hydrous chromium oxide is a chemisorption process. 3. It has been further noticed that the mode of preparation, changes the character of the hydrous oxide as a basic or as an acidic mordant.
