Summary Examples demonstrate the very short time needed for the forming of a developed wind surge after a storm area over the German Bight. The wind surge values derived from general storm areas apply also to rapidly moving cyclones. The time delay in the occurrence of the quasi-stationary wind surge in the static mean refers also to the cases under review. The dangerous nature of the weather situation dicussed for the case of a possible accidental coincidence with another tide is estimated. The rapid fall of the wind surge as a consequence of a shift or decrease in wind is shown. A comparison is made with the storm surge of 16/17th February, 1962, and the storm area which, in contrast to the cases observed, as more developed in time and space.
Abstract:
Résumé On montre d'après des exemples le peu de temps au bout duquel en zone de tempête en baie allemande, prend forme une accumulation dûe au vent. Les valeurs observées de ces accumulations dans le cas général des zones de tempête restent valables dans le cas d'un passage cyclonique rapide. Le retard avec lequel s'établit une accumulation quasi-stationnaire en moyenne statistique, s'applique également dans les cas considérés. On donne une estimation du danger suivant l'état des ondes de tempête envisagées en cas de coincidence éventuelle avec une autre marée. On montre la rapidité de la dispersion lorsque le vent tourne ou faiblit. On établit une comparaison avec l'onde de tempête de 16 à 17 février 1962 et, contrairement aux cas considérés, la zone de tempête étendue dans le temps et dans l'espace.

Zusammenfassung An Hand von Beispielen wird gezeigt, in wie kurzer Zeit sich auf ein Sturmfeld über der Deutschen Bucht ein ausgereifter Windstau einstellt. Die aus allgemeinen Sturmfeldern ermittelten Stauwerte behalten auch für rasch ziehende Zyklonen ihre Gültigkeit. Die Zeitverzögerung, mit welcher sich ein quasi-stationärer Stau im statistischen Mittel einstellt, gilt auch noch für die betrachteten Fälle. Eine Abschätzung der Gefährlichkeit der betrachteten Sturmflutlagen bei einem möglichen, zufälligen Zusammentreffen mit einer anderen Tide wird gegeben. Es wird die rasche Abnahme des Staus bei Winddrehung oder Windabnahme aufgezeigt. Ein Vergleich mit der Sturmflut vom 16./17. Februar 1962 und dem im Gegensatz zu den betrachteten Fällen zeitlich und räumlich ausgedehnten Sturmfeld wird angestellt.
