    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract The u. v. spectra of the N-monosubstituted amidines have been found to correspond to those of the analogous N-benzylidene anilines. Deviations observed for some derivatives can be attributed to a conjugation effect due to p-substitution.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Absorptionskurven der N-monosubstituierten Amidine im UV-Bereich stimmen mit den Absorptionen der analogen N-Benzylidenaniline1 überein (Schiffsche Basen). Die bei einigen Abkömmlingen gefundenen Abweichungen kann man der Wirkung eines Konjugationseffektes infolge der Substitution in der p-Stellung zuschreiben.
