The previously described preparation of intermetallic phases by reduction of the oxides of base metals by hydrogen in the presence of platinum was extended to all elements of the eighth group. The obtained phases were identified by x-ray investigations. The results show that coupled reductions with platinum are possible in the broadest extent, and that the reaction tendency clearly decreases from Pt to Ir und Os on the one hand, and from Pt to Pd and Ni on the other.In the investigated oxides of the base metals, a decrease of the reaction tendency with increasing values of ΔH can clearly be recognized.

Es wird die früher beschriebene Darstellung intermetallischer Phasen durch Reduktion von Oxiden unedler Metalle in Gegenwart von Platin mit Wasserstoff auf alle Elemente der achten Gruppe ausgedehnt. Die erhaltenen Phasen wurden röntgenographisch charakterisiert. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, daß gekoppelte Reduktionen mit Platin im weitesten Umfang möglich sind und daß die Reaktionsfähigkeit vom Pt zum Ir und Os hin einerseits und vom Pt zum Pd und Ni hin andererseits deutlich abnimmt. Bei den eingesetzten Oxiden der unedlen Elemente ist eine Abnahme der Reaktionsfähigkeit mit steigenden ΔH-Werten deutlich zu erkennen.
