Description / Table of Contents:
Abstract:
Notes:
Summary Better information about the relation between atmospheric temperature radiation and data genrally available from synoptic weather stations is required. For this purpose a couple of radiation instruments was installed at the airfield of Deelen (Holland), among others meters with polyethylene domes. The sensitivity of the various instruments for short- and long-wave radiation is discussed and it is shown that changes of the transmission of the polyethylene domes with time influence the sensitivity for long-and short-wave radiation in a different way. A strong ventilation is necessary, not only to prevent dew formation and hoarfrost, but also to keep the instrument and the domes sufficiently close to air temperature. Discussed is (partly in the Appendix) in which way all the desired records can be made on one mV recorder with an as big as possible deflection all over the year.
