Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary A simple and precise method is described for the determination of the deuterium content of water by conductivity measurements. It is based on the isotope effects in ionic mobilities and in the degree of dissociation of weak electrolytes. An accuracy of + − 0.02 atom-% D is reached over the whole range. Therefore, precision analyses can be carried out, especially in the case of higher abundances of deuterium. By means of a special flow method the sample required amounts to only 100 mg of water.
