Description / Table of Contents:
Suitable coordinated metal alkyl compounds are fit for reacting by splitting off alkane under formation of 1.2-dimetalloalkyliden in accordance with the following scheme (me = metal valence) already at room temperature and below: The formation of alkane presupposes the transition of a β-Hydrogen atom. This hydrogen transition has an isotopic effect kH/kD ≈ 8. Is no β-hydrogen present, for instance in Al(CH3)3, evolution of methane and formation of me—CH2—me occurs much more slowly. The reaction introduces the reduction of soluble ZIEGLER-catalysts. explains aging effects at heterogene ZIEGLER-catalysts. If the 1 2-dimetalloalkyliden decomposes emitting α-olefine, the number of oxidation of the substituating metals lowers one unit. The liberation of alkane which takes place at temperatures 〈 0°C, is formally a condensation, the repetition resp, subsequently combination of e.g. trialkyls consequently leads to oligo- and polycondensation, i.e. formation of oligomer and polymer eventually of crosslinked organometallic polyreaction products, which contain metal and carbonium groups alternating stringed together.
Notes:
