    Description / Table of Contents: Depending on the reaction conditions the ring opening polymerization of cyclopentene in the presence of organometallic catalysts composed of tungsten hexachloride, ether, and tin tetraalkyls yields poly(1-pentenylene) (polypentenamers) with 95% cis and 80% trans double bonds, respectively.Experiments with preformed catalyts indicate, that the microstructure of the polymers is determined by two different active species. The two species are characterized by the conditions of formation and their activity in polymerization. A complex structure for the two active species is proposed.
    Notes: Die ringöffnende Polymerisation von Cyclopenten mit metallorganischen Mischkatalysatoren aus Wolframhexachlorid, Äther und Zinntetraalkyl ergibt je nach den Reaktionsbedingungen Poly(1-pentenylen) (Polypentenamere) mit 95% cis-oder 80% trans-Doppelbindungen.Versuche mit präformierten Katalysatoren zeigen, daß die Mikrostruktur der Polymeren durch zwei verschiedene aktive Spezies bestimmt wird. Für die beiden Spezies werden die Bildungsbedingungen und Reaktionen beschrieben und eine Komplexstruktur vorgeschlagen.

    Description / Table of Contents: The catalytic systems consisting of MoCl5, (ClC4H8)2O, Sn(C2H5)4, and WCl6, (C2H5)2O, Sn(C2H5)4 are efficient promoters of ring-opening polymerization of cycloolefines. Based on the experimental results the influence of the central atoms on the formation of the active species is discussed. The diverse modes of reaction are attributed to the different sizes of the metal hybride orbitals.
    Notes: Die beiden Katalysatorsysteme aus MoCl5, (ClC4H8)2O, Sn(C2H5)4 und WCl6, (C2H5)2O, Sn(C2H5)4 sind zur ringöffnenden Polymerisation von Cycloolefinen gut geeignet. Anhand der Versuchsergebnisse wird der Einfluß der Zentralatome auf die Bildung der aktiven Spezies erörtert. Zur Erklärung unterschiedlicher Reaktionsweisen wird unter anderem die Raumerfüllung der Metallhybridorbitale diskutiert.
