Zusammenfassung In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird die Theorie der Elektron-Phonon Wechselwirkung und deren Einfluß auf die Dämpfung von Phononen untersucht. Die Matrixelemente der effektiven Elektron-Phonon Wechselwirkung, die wesentlich in die Theorie eingehen, werden mit Hilfe einer Integralgleichung ermittelt, die ohne vereinfachende Annahmen über Energiespektrum und Wellenfunktionen der Blochelektronen hergeleitet wird. Auch die Matrixelemente der Ion-Elektron-Wechselwirkung lassen sich ohne weiteres verallgemeinern auf den Fall von Metallen mit komplizierter Bandstruktur. Für Al wird die Lebensdauer der Phononen im Modell freier Elektronen bestimmt. Die Ergebnisse werden mit dem Experiment sowie mit einer früheren Berechnung verglichen.

Résumé On présente dans ce travail la théorie de l'interaction électron-phonon et de son influence sur l'atténuation des phonons. Les éléments de matrice de l'interaction effective électron-phonon, qui sont à la base de cette théorie, sont obtenus à partir d'une équation intégrale qui s'établit sans devoir supposer aucune simplification concernant les fonctions d'onde et le spectre d'énergie des électrons de Bloch. Pour les éléments de matrice de l'interaction ion-électron, on donne également une formule permettant de généraliser ces calculs du cas de métaux ayant une structure de bands plus compliquée. La durée de vie des phonons dans Al est calculée dans le modèle de l'électron libre. Ces résultats sont comparés à ceux livrés par l'expérience et par des calculs théoriques antérieurs.

Abstract The theory of the electron-phonon interaction and of its influence on the damping of phonons is presented. The basic quantity entering into the theory, the matrix element of the effective electron-phonon interaction, will be obtained from an integral equation which is derived without making any simplifying assumptions about the wave functions and the energy spectrum of the Bloch electrons. Also for the matrix element of the ion-electron interaction a formula is given which allows an extension of the present calculation to metals with a complicated band structure. For the purpose of numerical computation in the metal Al the phonon lifetimes are determined in the free-electron model. The calculated values are compared with the experimental data of Nilsson and Stedman and with the theoretical results of Björkmanet al.
