    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis of 2.3-Diamino-2.3-dideoxy-D-galactoseThe title compound is synthesized by inversion of configuration at C-4 in suitably substituted derivatives of 2,3-diamino-2,3-dideoxy-D-glucose (6 and 7). The 4-mesyloxy group shows a very high reactivity in these compounds due to the neighboring benzamido group at C-3. Reaction with sodium acetate causes cyclization to an oxazoline which on ring opening gives the corresponding galacto derivatives. On reaction with alkoxides attack by the nitrogen atom seems to be preferred giving cyclization products of partly unknown constitution.
    Notes: Die Darstellung der Titelverbindung erfolgt durch Inversion der Konfiguration von C-4 in geeignet substituierten Derivaten der 2.3-Diamino-2.3-didesoxy-D-glucose (6 und 7). Die 4-Mesyloxygruppe zeigt in diesen Verbindungen eine sehr hohe Reaktionsfähigkeit, bedingt durch die Nachbarschaft der Benzamidgruppe an C-3. Während Umsetzung mit Natrium-acetat Cyclisierung zu einem Oxazolin bewirkt, welches bei der Ringöffnung in das entsprechende galakto-Derivat übergeht, führt die Reaktion mit Alkoholaten zu Cyclisierungs-produkten, die durch Beteiligung des N-Atoms entstehen und deren Konstitution zum Teil noch nicht aufgeklärt werden konnte.

Synthesis of 2,4-Diamino-1,6-anhydro-2,4-dideoxy-D-taloseDehydrogenation of the amino reductone 1 with iodine yields a triulose which is isolated as the phenylhydrazone-phenylazo derivative 2. Spontaneous cyclization of 2 forms the 1.6-anhydro compound 3. On hydrogenation 2as well as 3are transformed into the title compound.
    Notes: Die durch Dehydrierung des Aminoreduktons 1 mit Jod entstehende Triulose wird als Bis-phenylhydrazon 2 isoliert, das die Konstitution eines Phenylhydrazon-benzolazo-Derivates besitzt. 2 cyclisiert leicht zur 1.6-Anhydro-Verbindung 3, die, wie auch 2, bei der katalytischen Hydrierung die Titelverbindung liefert.

Synthesis of 2.3.4.6-Tetraamino-2.3.4.6-tetradeoxy-D-galactoseBenzyl 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-α-D-glucopyranoside was converted into the corresponding allo derivative which was trimesylated and reacted with sodium azide in phosphoric tris-(dimethylamide). After deblocking the free sugar was isolated as its crystalline tetrahydrochloride.
    Notes: Die Synthese der Titelverbindung erfolgte aus Benzyl-2-acetamino-2-desoxy-α-D-glucopyranosid über die entsprechende allo-Verbindung, in die nach Trimesylierung die Stickstoff-Funktionen mit Natriumazid in Hexamethylphosphorsäuretriamid eingeführt wurden. Nach Entfernung der Schutzgruppen wurde der Zucker als Tetrahydrochlorid kristallin isoliert.

    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis of 2.-3(2-Aminoethylidene)-2.3-dideoxy-D-mannose and Derivatives of 2.-3(Aminomethylene)-2.3-dideoxy-D-mannose  -  Amino Sugars with a Cyclopropane RingThe syntheses of the title compounds were realised first by reduction of the cyclopropane carboxylic acid ester 1 to the alcohol 4 and subsequent introduction of the nitrogen function via a displacement reaction at C-7 and second by a Curtius degradation of the cyclopropane carboxylic acid azide 14. The aminoethylidene monosaccharide 10 was obtained in free, protected form, however, preparation of the free cyclopropyl amine was not possible due to its instability.
    Notes: Die Synthese der Titelverbindungen erfolgte einmal durch Reduktion des Cyclopropancarbonsäureesters 1 zum Alkohol 4 und Einführung der Stickstoff-Funktion durch eine Substitution an C-7 und zum anderen durch Curtius-Abbau des Cyclopropancarbonsäureazids 14. Während das Aminoäthyliden-Monosaccharid 10 in freiem Zustand erhalten werden konnte, war die Darstellung des freien Cyclopropylamins infolge seiner Zersetzlichkeit nicht möglich.

Imidazo[1.2-b]-s-triazolesWhereas in basic media treatment of 3.5-diamino-s-triazole (1) with acyloins (2) merely results in acylation with formation of 4, under acidic reaction conditions condensation takes place to yield imidazo[1.2-b]-s-triazoles (3). The latter can be characterized via the 2-aminogroup as Schiff′s bases (3c and f). An independent synthesis of 3 is the reaction of 1 with the corresponding α-chlorocarbonyl compounds 5.
    Notes: Während bei der Umsetzung von 3.5-Diamino-s-triazol (1) mit Acyloinen (2) in basischem Medium nur Acylierung unter Bildung von 4 eintritt, erfolgt unter sauren Reaktionsbedingungen Kondensation zu Imidazo[1.2-b]-s-triazolen (3). Diese können über die 2-Aminogruppe als Schiffsche Basen (3c und f) charakterisiert werden. Eine Gegensynthese von 3 ist die Reaktion von 1 mit den entsprechenden α-Chlor-carbonylverbindungen 5.

On Di-π-cyclopentadienyl-μ-π-cyclopentadienedimetal Complexes of Palladium, Nickel, and Platinum as well as on „Tetracyclopentadienyldipalladium“ and π-Cyclopentadienyl-π-(2-methyl-1-acetylallyl)palladiumMetal halides MX2 = PdBr2, NiI2 yield with alkali cyclopentadienides and cyclopentadiene a new diamagnetic type of compounds according to An analogously composed platinum complex was detected too. Spectroscopic investigations support a molecular structure with a metal-metal bond, two π-bonded C5H5-rings and a π-bonded C5H6-ring as bridge in a manner that the compounds can be described as di-π-cyclopentadienyl-μ-π-cyclopentadienedimetal complexes. - Variation of the reaction conditions led to Pd2C20H20 mixed with Pd2(C5H5)2C5H6. Pd2C20H20 was proved by mass spectroscopy and so the question of a „tetracyclopentadienyldipalladium“ is settled. It should, however, exist as di-π-cyclopentadienyl-μ-π-(5-cyclopentadienylcyclopentadiene)dipalladium. According to violet, diamagnetic π-cyclopentadienyl-π-(2-methyl-1-acetylallyl)palladium was obtained.
    Notes: Metallhalogenide MX2 = PdBr2, NiJ2 ergeben mit Alkalicyclopentadieniden und Cyclopentadien einen neuen diamagnetischen Verbindungstyp nach Ein analog zusammengesetzter Platin-Komplex konnte ebenfalls nachgewiesen werden. Spektroskopische Untersuchungen sprechen für einen Molekülaufbau mit Metall-Metall-Bindung, zwei π-gebundenen C5H5-Ringen und π-gebundenem C5H6 als Brücke, so daß die Verbindungen als Di-π-cyclopentadienyl-μ-π-cyclopentadien-dimetall-Komplexe aufzufassen sind. - Durch Änderung der Reaktionsbedingungen im Gemisch mit Pd2(C5H5)2C5H6 entstehendes Pd2C20H20 ließ sich massenspektroskopisch sichern und damit die Frage nach einem „Tetracyclopentadienyl-dipalladium“ beantworten, das jedoch als Di-π-cyclopentadienyl-μ-π-(5-cyclopentadienyl-cyclopentadien)-dipalladium vorliegen dürfte. - Nach entsteht violettes, diamagnetisches π-Cyclopentadienyl-π-(2-methyl-l-acetyl-allyl)-palladium.

Synthesis of Disaccharides of 2-Amino-2-deoxy- and 3-Amino-3-deoxy-D-glucoseThe solvent dependency of the Koenigs-Knorr reaction between two derivatives of 2-amino-2-deoxy-D-glucose (3 and 4) was investigated. The highest yield of the α-disaccharide 5 was obtained in the system toluene/1,2-dimethoxyethane. The condensation of two derivatives of 3-amino-3-deoxy-D-glucose (11 and 13) under similar conditions yielded the 1,6-linked α-and β-disaccharides (15, 14) of this sugar which were unknown until now.
    Notes: Die Koenigs-Knorr-Reaktion zwischen zwei Derivaten der 2-Amino-2-desoxy-D-glucose (3 und 4) wurde in Abhängigkeit vom Lösungsmittel untersucht. Die höchste Ausbeute an α-Disaccharid 5 konnte in einem Gemisch von Toluol und 1,2-Dimethoxyäthan erhalten werden. Die Kondensation zweier Derivate der 3-Amino-3-desoxy-D-glucose (11 und 13) unter ähnlichen Bedingungen führte zu den bisher unbekannten 1,6-verknüpften α- und β-Disacchariden (15 bzw. 14) dieses Zuckers.

On reduction 8 yields derivatives of 2-amino-2-deoxy-D-allose only.
    Notes: Das α-Azido-keton 1 geht leicht direkt oder über das Enolacetat 2 in das vinyloge Säureamid 4 über, Aus dem mit Säure 8 entsteht. 4 und 8 zeigen die typischen Reaktionen von Reduktonen. Bei der Reduktion gibt 8 ausschließlich Derivate der 2-Amino-2-desoxy-D-allose.

    Notes: Kondensation des Pyrrolidin-Enamins von Cyclohexanon-(4)-carbonsäure-(1)-äthylester (1) mit 2-Brommethyl-acrylsäureester liefert Adamantandion-(2.6)-carbonsäure-(1)-äthylester (2). Durch selective Reduktion der Carbonylgruppe in 6-Stellung entsteht aus 2 Adamantanon (2)carbonsäure-(1)-äthylester (7). 1-Brom-adamantandion-(2.6) (8) ist durch Silbersalzabbau der aus 2 erhaltenen Säure 5 zugänglich. Aus der Bromverbindung ist durch Reduktion Adamantandion-(2.6) (12) und durch Favorski-Reaktion Noradamantanon-(4)-carbonsäure-(1) (10) erhältlich.Condensation of the pyrrolidine enamine of ethyl 4-oxocyclohexane-1-carboxylate (1) with ethyl 2-(bromomethyl) acrylate yielded ethyl 2.6-dioxoadamantane-1-carboxylate (2). Selective reduction of the carbonyl group at the 6-position in 2 leads to ethyl 2-oxoadamantane-1-carboxylate (7). 1-Bromo-2.6-dioxoadamantane (8) is accessible by silver salt degradation of the acid 5 obtained from 2. The bromo compound is reduced to 2.6-dioxoadamantane (12) and undergoes the favorski reaction to yield 4-oxonoradamantane-1-carboxylic acid (10).
