Description / Table of Contents: Naturally Occuring Terpene Derivatives, XXVIII. On a New Sesquiterpene Derivative from Artemisia Ponica L.The polar parts of the root extract from Artemisia ponica L. contain a new sesquiterpene-diol, which is linked with isofraxidin. The structure 2 is established by means of the spectroscopie data of the natural product and of some derivatives.

Description / Table of Contents: Lupin-Alkaloids, XL. Preparations and Reactions of Cyclic Enamines and Imonium SaltsBy reduction of lactams with diisobutylaluminium hydride enamines as well as the corresponding salts can be prepared. The stereochemistry of their dimerisation as well as several reactions with different types of compounds have been investigated. Michael- and Mannich-reactions, also intramolecular, are possible applications. The last method leads to a new stereospecific synthesis of spartein.

Description / Table of Contents: Formation of Oxetanes via Photo-sensitized Oxidation of EnaminesPhotooxidations of the enamines 1 and 5 in toluene give rise to the formation of the usual reaction products. In methanol, however, the oxetanes 8 and 13, respectively, are isolated as the main photooxidation products. Both the mechanism of their formation as well as some reactions of 8 and 13 are discussed. Oxidation of 13 with m-chloroperbenzoic acid produces the aldehyde 15 via a multi-step reaction.
