Notes: We perform high resolution x-ray diffraction on GaMnAs mixed crystals as well as on GaMnAs/GaAs and GaAs/MnAs superlattices for samples grown by low-temperature molecular-beam epitaxy under different growth conditions. Although all samples are of high crystalline quality and show narrow rocking curve widths and pronounced finite thickness fringes, the lattice constant variation with increasing manganese concentration depends strongly on the growth conditions: For samples grown at substrate temperatures of 220 and 270 °C, the extrapolated relaxed lattice constant of Zincblende MnAs is 0.590 nm and 0.598 nm, respectively. This is in contrast to low-temperature GaAs, for which the lattice constant decreases with increasing substrate temperature. © 2001 American Institute of Physics.

Description / Table of Contents: Silicon complexes. VI. Oxalatosilicates and oxalatogermanatesBy reaction of SiCl4(GeCl4) or diaryldichloro silanes (germanes) with Ag2C2O4 and quartary ammonium or phosphonium iodides, compounds of the following formulas were prepared: These products are resistant towards hydrolysis and were characterized by IR-spectra, conductivity and thermal decomposition. The compounds resulting from reaction of monoorganitrichloro silanes nearly correspond to the formula \documentclass{article}\pagestyle{empty}\begin{document}$$ ({\rm R}_{\rm 4} {\rm E)[RSi(C}_{\rm 2} {\rm O}_{\rm 4})_2] $$\end{document} and are extremely sensitive towards hydrolysis.

Description / Table of Contents: The relative acidity of substituted triphenyl silanols [X - C6H4-]3Si -OH is measured by means of potentiometric titration. The substituent effect is well defined by σ0-constants(3).

Description / Table of Contents: Silanols. XII. IR vibrational study on substituted triphenyl silanolsFrequency, intensity and half-band width of the OH stretching vibration of substituted triphenyl-silanols (X—C6H4)3Si —OH have been measured, and band shift caused by the presence of a donor was determined. The results show good correlations with potentiometric data on the relative acidity of silanols and with σ°-constants of the substituents X.

Description / Table of Contents: IR-spectroscopic Investigations of Aroxy-fluoro-, Aroxy-hydride-, and Fluoro-hydride-silanes.Characteristic IR-bands of Si—H-, Si—F- and Si—0-aryl groups of some aroxy-fluoro-, aroxy-hydride- and fluoro-hydride-silanes are investigated. The relative band positions are explained by the influence of inductive and (p—d),-effects of the sub- stituents on the bond properties of the concerning groups. The results for the Si—0-aryl- group are completed by additional investigations about H—bonding with phenol.

Description / Table of Contents: Silicon Complexes. VII. Chelate Complexes of Silicon with Keto-enolates and Similar LigandsBy reaction of organo trichlor-silanes with β-diketones chelate complexes of the composition RSi(diket)2X [explanation of R, diket, X see above] could be prepared. The variability of the anions X- and the analysis of the spectra give evidence for formula [RSi(diket)2]+X- with 5-coordinated silicon.Formation of silicon complexes with 2-hydroxy-acetophenone, o-nitroso naphthol and N-benzoyl-N-phenyl hydroxylamine has been investigated.
