    Description / Table of Contents: The Preparation of Trifluoroiodomethane, Bromotrifluoromethane, and Trifluoronitrosomethane by Chemical PlasmaThe reactions of C2F6 and CF3Cl with diatomic molecules have been investigated in an inductive coupled plasma (12 MHz). From the reactions of C2F6 or CF3Cl with iodine CF3I is obtained as the main product. By varying the experimental conditions also CF2ClI is formed. The reaction of C2F6 or CF3Cl with bromine yields CF3Br; the reaction of C2F6 or CF3Br with NO yields CF3NO.
    Notes: Die Reaktionen von C2F6 und CF3Cl mit zweiatomigen Molekülen im induktiven Hochfrequenzplasma (12 MHz) wurden untersucht. Bei der Reaktion von C2F6 oder CF3Cl mit Jod wird als Hauptprodukt CF3J gebildet. Unter veränderten Versuchsbedingungen erhält man zusätzlich CF2ClJ. Die Reaktion von C2F6 oder CF3Cl mit Brom ergibt CF3Br; die Reaktion von C2F6 oder CF3Br mit NO ergibt CF3NO.

    Notes: Bei der Elektrofluorierung werden die Substanzen in flüssigem, wasserfreiem Fluorwasserstoff an Metall-Elektroden fluoriert, ohne daß dabei elementares Fluor frei wird. Durch Abändern der Apparatur nach Simons gelingt es nun auch, Gase, z. B. CH4, C2H6, C3H8 und H2S, zu fluorieren; die Reaktionsprodukte werden anschlie-end durch fraktioniertes Ausfrieren getrennt.

    Notes: „Halogennitrate“ sind in alkoholischer Lösung und als Komplexverbindungen  -  vornehmlich mit Pyridin  -  bekannt. Es schien reizvoll, diese Nitrate in Substanz darzustellen und ihr Verhalten näher zu untersuchen. Die Umsetzung von Cl2O mit N2O5 gestattet es, das NO3Cl als Schlüsselsubstanz für alle weiteren Halogennitrate in präparativem Maßstab darzustellen. Seinem Verhalten nach ist es als „Chlornitrat“, CINO3, anzusprechen. Chlornitrat eignete sich vorzüglich zur Darstellung der anorganischen Acylnitrate. Weiterhin konnten die Halogennitrate BrNO3, Br(NO3)3, BrO2NO3, JNO3 und J(NO3)3 dargestellt und ihre Reaktionen mit Halogeniden und Oxyden studiert werden. Eine experimentelle Bestätigung fanden die Arbeiten dadurch, daß die gewonnenen Halogennitrate mit Pyridin (und anderen N-Basen) in die entsprechenden, schon beschriebenen, Komplexverbindungen übergeführt werden konnten. Das Studium des CINO3 erlaubte einen systematischen Vergleich der Stickstoff-Sauerstoff-Chlor-Verbindungen NOCl, NO2Cl und NO3Cl.
