    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die kalorimetrische und rheologische Charakterisierung der Ansätze von hitzhärtbarem Harz wird beschrieben. Die Ansätze enthalten ein mit 60–120% methyliertem Maleinsäure-Adduktanhydrid gehärtetes Novolackepoxidharz. Die kalorimetrisch bestimmte Epoxid-konversion wurde auf die theoretisch aus der nicht-linearen Flory'schen Kopolymerisationstheorie berechneten und experimentell durch rheologische Tests bestätigten Erstarrungsgrenzen bezogen.
    Abstract: Резюме Описаны калориметри ческие и реологическ ие характеристики терм ореактивных резин, содержащих нов олак-эпокси резину со вместно с ангидридом метилиро ванной малеиновой кислоты в качестве от вердителя. Превращен ие эпокси-резины, опреде ленное калориметрич еским методом, взаимосвяза но с пределами гелеоб разования, вычисленных по теори и Флори для нелинейной копол имеризации и экспери ментально подтвержденных в рео логических испытаниях.
    Notes: Abstract Calorimetric and rheological characterizations of thermosetting resin formulations containing a novalac epoxy resin hardened with 60 to 120 parts per hundred of methylated maleic acid adduct anhydride are described. The calorimetrically determined epoxy conversion has been related to the gelation limits theoretically calculated from Flory's non-linear copolymerization theory and experimentally verified in rheological tests.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Uniaxial orientierte und unorientierte ataktische Polystyrenproben wurden vor und nach dem Tempern bei 80° mittels DSC untersucht. Mit länger werdender Temperungszeit erscheint in endothermer Peak, dessen Fläche mit der Dauer der Temperungsperiode ansteigt. Die Flächen der endothermen Peaks von orientierten und unorientierten Polymeren unterscheiden sich nicht. Die DSC-Kurve von ungetempertem orientiertem Polystyren zeigt einen exothermen Relaxationseffekt. DSC und Relaxationsuntersuchungen ergaben, daß dieser exotherme Relaxationseffekt unabhängig von der Orientierung der Hauptkette ist und eher einer Probeverdichtung zuzuschreiben ist.
    Abstract: Резюме Проведен ДСК анализ о дноосно ориентирова нных и неориентированных атактических образц ов полистирола до и по сле их отжига при температу ре 80°. При увеличении времени отжига появл яется эндотермическ ий пик, площадь которого уве личивается с увеличением периода отжига. Не наблюдалос ь различий между площадью эндот ермического пика ориентированно го и неориентированн ого образцов полимера. На кривой ДС К ориентированного полистирола, не подве ргнутого отжигу, наблюдается релакса ционная эксзотерма. ДСК и релаксационные исследования показа ли, что релаксационная эксз отерма не зависит от ориентации главной ц епи полимера, а обусло влена скорее уплотнением о бразца.
    Notes: Abstract DSC analysis was performed on uniaxially oriented and unoriented atactic polystyrene samples prior to and after annealing at 80 °C. With increasing annealing times, an endothermic peak appeared, whose area increased with the duration of the annealing period. No difference was found between the endotherm areas for the oriented and the unoriented polymer. The DSC curve of the unannealed oriented polystyrene exhibited a relaxation exotherm. DSC and relaxation studies indicated that this relaxation exotherm was independent of the main chain orientation; it may rather be due to sample densification.

    Notes: Abstract The sorption behaviour of water molecules in epoxy-based thermosetting networks is discussed and related to the modifications of the polymer properties. The hypothesized sorption modes and the corresponding mechanisms of plasticization are discussed on the basis of experimental liquid-sorption tests, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and electrical analyses. Two modes of moisture sorption are assumed: a sorption leading to an increase in the free volume of the system, and adsorption of the water molecules due to hydrogen bonding to hydrophilic groups present in the network and to the surfaces of “holes” which make up the excess free volume of the glassy polymer. Electrical investigation improved the understanding of the hygrothermal ageing phenomena. Water conditioning of the composites modified the surface and bulk resistivities as a consequence of microstructural damage and plasticization.
