    Notizen: The collisional line shape of methyl fluoride rotational transitions J,K=2,2→3,2 and 5,5→6,5 is observed under the effect of a static electric field. The collisional coupling between partially overlapping Stark components is studied under two particularly favorable conditions: first, the degree of overlapping can be set by both the electric field and the pressure, second, we have a calculated collisional relaxation matrix checked on both well isolated and completely unresolved Stark components. This allows us to obtain better insight into the collisional coupling effect and to show definitely that this effect explains the difference between collisional linewidths of the CH3F rotational transitions and of their Stark components. © 1999 American Institute of Physics.

    Notizen: We measured transmittance and reflectance spectra of commercial SrTiO3 crystals in the infrared region (25–12 000 cm−1). The reflectance R(ν) spectra confirm recent results. The transmittance T(ν) spectra show that SrTiO3 is transparent above 1000 cm−1, while the model usually employed to describe the complex dielectric function of SrTiO3 predicts a negligible transmittance in all the infrared region. By combining T(ν) and R(ν) spectra, we directly determine the frequency dependence of the refractive indices n and k which accounts for the spectra measured in the mid-infrared and near-infrared range. This result will be important for a correct analysis of the infrared spectra of films deposited on SrTiO3. © 1996 American Institute of Physics.

    Notizen: Self-broadening and shifting of methyl fluoride 12CH3F have been investigated in the 50–408 GHz range for the rotational transitions J=0→1, J=1→2, J=2→3, J=5→6, and J=7→8 and for their ΔM=0 and ΔM=±1 Stark components, as they were resolved by an appropriate field. The different results obtained for M-degenerated and M-resolved cases, as well as the M dependence of the results has been interpreted theoretically within semiclassical perturbative approximations. Evidence of collisional coupling effects between Stark components was obtained. © 1997 American Institute of Physics.
