Description:
The contribution by Tracy Stark in the November 2013 TLE is one of the few papers directly addressing the theme of that issue's special section, broadband seismology. How can current seismic imaging access the broadest range of frequencies possible to attain the highest possible resolution (HPR)? In fact, as Stark astutely observes, both Dan Wisecup and I do precisely this, but in different ways and addressing different seismic images. My objective here is to highlight the distinctions between these methods. There is no effort on my part to diminish in any way the excellent work of both Stark and Wisecup.
