    Description: eXTP is a science mission designed to study the state of matter under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. Primary goals are the determination of the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, the measurement of QED effects in highly magnetized star, and the study of accretion in the strong-field regime of gravity. Primary targets include isolated and binary neutron stars, strong magnetic field systems like magnetars, and stellar-mass and supermassive black holes. The mission carries a unique and unprecedented suite of state-of-the-art scientific instruments enabling for the first time ever the simultaneous spectral-timing-polarimetry studies of cosmic sources in the energy range from 0.5-30 keV (and beyond). Key elements of the payload are: the Spectroscopic Focusing Array (SFA) - a set of 11 X-ray optics for a total effective area of approx. 0.9 m(exp. 2) and 0.6 m(exp. 2) at 2 keV and 6 keV respectively, equipped with Silicon Drift Detectors offering less than 180 eV spectral resolution; the Large Area Detector (LAD) - a deployable set of 640 Silicon Drift Detectors, for a total effective area of approx. 3.4 m(exp. 2), between 6 and 10 keV, and spectral resolution better than 250 eV; the Polarimetry Focusing Array (PFA) - a set of 2 X-ray telescope, for a total effective area of 250 cm(exp. 2) at 2 keV, equipped with imaging gas pixel photoelectric polarimeters; the Wide Field Monitor (WFM) - a set of 3 coded mask wide field units, equipped with position-sensitive Silicon Drift Detectors, each covering a 90 degrees x 90 degrees field of view. The eXTP international consortium includes major institutions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Universities in China, as well as major institutions in several European countries and the United States. The predecessor of eXTP, the XTP mission concept, has been selected and funded as one of the so-called background missions in the Strategic Priority Space Science Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2011. The strong European participation has significantly enhanced the scientific capabilities of eXTP. The planned launch date of the mission is earlier than 2025.

    Description: Recent timing observation reported that the radio pulsar PSR J1734–3333 with a rotating period P = 1.17 s is slowing down with a period derivative $\dot{P}=2.28\times 10^{-12}\ \rm s\,s^{-1}$ . Its derived braking index n  = 0.9 ± 0.2 is the lowest value among young radio pulsars with the measured braking indices. In this Letter, we attempt to investigate the influence of the braking torque caused by the interaction between the fall-back disc and the strong magnetic field of the pulsar on the spin evolution of PSR J1734–3333. Analytical result show that this braking torque is obviously far more than that by magnetic dipole radiation for pulsars with spin period of 〉0.1 s, and play an important role during the spin-down of the pulsars. Our simulated results indicate that, for some typical neutron star parameters, the braking index and the period derivative approximately in agreement with the measured value of PSR J1734–3333 if the material inflow rate in the fall-back disc is 2 x 10 17 g s – 1 . In addition, our scenario can account for the measured braking indices of four young pulsars. However, our predicted X-ray luminosity are one to two order of magnitude higher than the observation. We proposed that this discrepancy may originate from the instability of fall-back disc.

    Description: Because of the lack of long-term pulsed emission in quiescence and the strong timing noise, it is impossible to directly measure the braking index n of a magnetar. Based on the estimated ages of their potentially associated supernova remnants (SNRs), we estimate the values of the mean braking indices of eight magnetars with SNRs, and find that they cluster in the range of 1–42. Five magnetars have smaller mean braking indices of 1 〈  n  〈 3, and we interpret them within a combination of magneto-dipole radiation and wind-aided braking. The larger mean braking indices of n  〉 3 for the other three magnetars are attributed to the decay of external braking torque, which might be caused by magnetic field decay. We estimate the possible wind luminosities for the magnetars with 1 〈  n  〈 3, and the dipolar magnetic field decay rates for the magnetars with n  〉 3, within the updated magneto-thermal evolution models. Although the constrained range of the magnetars’ braking indices is tentative, as a result of the uncertainties in the SNR ages due to distance uncertainties and the unknown conditions of the expanding shells, our method provides an effective way to constrain the magnetars’ braking indices if the measurements of the SNR ages are reliable, which can be improved by future observations.

    Description: The transition-metal dichalcogenides provided a good platform for the investigation of superconductivity and charge-density-wave (CDW) order. A series of high quality 6 R -TaS 2− x Se x (0 ≤  x  ≤ 1.6) single crystals were fabricated by the chemical-vapor-transport method and systematically investigated. The CDW becomes more stable with more S being replaced by Se, which causes expansion of the lattice, and produces a negative chemical pressure in the system. The x dependence of the onset of superconductivity ( T c onset ) shows a dome-like shape with a maximum of T c onset  = 2.7 K at x  = 0.8. The magnetic susceptibility (4π χ ) of x  = 0.8 under the hydrostatic pressure P  = 1.0 GPa was also measured, which showed a small increase of T c and superconducting volume fraction. A pronounced peak effect was observed in the isothermal hysteresis with magnetic field ( H ) parallel to c -axis, which may arise from the quenching inhomogeneity and/or the stacking disorder. Finally, the evolution of the electronic states tuned by Se-doping was summarized in the phase diagram.

    Description: Two different confinement transition discharges, the low-intermediate-high (L-I-H) and the low-intermediate-low (L-I-L) confinement transitions, respectively, have been obtained by lower hybrid current drive with lithium wall conditioning in the EAST superconducting tokamak. The dynamic features of short-scale turbulent fluctuations in the two discharges are investigated by a tangential CO 2 laser collective scattering system. It is found that the great changes of broadband fluctuations in amplitude and structure characteristics are closely related to the choice of the final transition to H-mode. These results could shed light on the understanding of the L-H transition mechanism.

    Description: In order to further promote integrated optimization operation of distributed new energy/ energy storage/ active load, this paper studies the integrated photovoltaic-energy storage (PV-ES) system which is connected with the distribution network, and analyzes typical structure and configuration selection for integrated PV-ES generation system. By combining practical grid- connected characteristics requirements and technology standard specification of photovoltaic generation system, this paper takes full account of energy storage system, and then proposes several new grid-connected performance indexes such as paralleled current sharing characteristic, parallel response consistency, adjusting characteristic, virtual moment of inertia characteristic, on- grid/off-grid switch characteristic, and so on. A comprehensive and feasible grid-connected performance index system is then established to support grid-connected performance testing on integrated PV-ES system.

    Description: Sleep plays a significant role in human health. Along with the emergency of diseases related to sleep, sleep monitoring is becoming a hotspot. Traditionally, Polysomnography (PSG) is considered as the gold standard for sleep monitoring, but it is expensive, time-consuming, and uncomfortable, especially not ideal for long-term sleep studies.     Description: This paper mainly researched the hydrothermal synthesis of Natrolite, using amorphous silicon source from the purified attapulgite. The effects of silicon source, silicon aluminum ratio, crystallization time and crystallization temperature on the synthesis of natrolite were investigated. The results showed that the optimal synthesis condition of natrolite was: Hydrothermal activated ATP with NaOH was silicon source, silicon aluminum ratio was 10:1, crystallization time lasted to 72h and crystallization temperature was 150°C, the template was removed by calcining 8 hours at 550°C. The structural formula of obtained natrolite is Na 2 Al 2 Si 3 O 10 •2H 2 O.
