Description / Table of Contents: CuCl2 reacts with anthranilic acidmethyl ester and its N-(β-hydroxy-ethyl) derivative giving crystalline complexes. IR-spectroscopic investigations of these compounds as well as of complexes of 2,5-bis-[pyridil-(2)-methyl-amino]-terephthalic acid diethyl ester (PTE) have shown the carbalkoxy groups to have herein, in general, no ligand properties. Only for (PTE)Cu2(NO3)4 a weak co-ordinative interaction between the central atom and the ester group is indicated. These results are compared with the behaviour of other esters of aminocarboxylic acids.

Description / Table of Contents: β-(Bis-phenyl-phosphino)-ethyl-pyridine-(2) (PhPED) reacts with Ni(II), Co(II) and Zn salts forming predominantly 1,1 complexes which are supposed to have a distorted tetrahedral configuration. Ni(PhPED)(NCS)2, however, is diamagnetic, and also the 1,2 complexes Ni(PhPED)2J2 and -(ClO4)2; these have probably a distorted octahedral and planar-quadratic, respectively, structure. The Cu(I) complexes Cu(PhPED)Cl and -Br have been prepared, too.

Description / Table of Contents: Bis-(β-pyridyl-2)-ethyl)-amine (DPNH) and Cu(II) react in ethanol giving 1,1 complexes Cu(DPNH)X2 (X = Cl, Br, NO3), whereas from aqueous solutions only hydroxo complexes, Cu(DPNH)(OH)X (X = Br, NO3ClO4), could be isolated. Bis-(β-[pyridyl-2]-ethylselenide (DPSe), however, forms only the 1,1 complexes Cu(DPSe)X2 (X = Cl, Br, NO3, ClO4) in both aqueous and ethanolic solution.Structural aspects of these compounds, and their reactivities are discussed.

Description / Table of Contents: The two compounds mentioned in the title (“[DOH]2pn” and “[DOH]2en”, resp.) react with nickel salts forming the complex compounds Ni{(DOH)(DO)pn}X with X = ClO4, Br, J, SCN; and Ni{(DOH)(DO)en}Y with Y = ClO4, J, SCN. The two perchlorates are supposed to have a planarquadratic structure with ionically bound anions. The other anions, however, interact co-ordinatively with the complex cations, forming thus compounds with, probably, tetragonal-pyramidal configurations.
[Ni{(DOH)(DO)en}]+ in koordinative Wechselwirkung. Dabei entstehen wahrscheinlich Verbindungen mit tetragonal-pyramidaler Struktur.

Description / Table of Contents: Cobalt(II) salts react with excess diacetylmonoxime-β-pyridyl-(2)-ethylimine (DPÄ) forming complexes of the type [CoIII(DPÄ - H)2]X with X = Cl, J, NCS, NO3, ClO4, atmospheric oxygen being the oxidant. Starting with Co to ligand ratios of 1:2 and 1:1, complex salts of the types [Co(DPÄ - H)2]2[Co(NCS)4] and [Co(DPÄ - H)2] [CoCl3(C2H5OH)] · C2H5OH, respectively, are obtained. The complexing ability of DPÄ is discussed and compared with those of other oxime ligands.

Description / Table of Contents: The chelates Cu(A∩O)X with A∩OH = aminoalcohol and X = halide ligand, first described by HEIN and BEERSTECHER, are of three groups: 1. Compounds with strongly reduced magnetic moments having probably a binuclear structure with distorted-tetrahedral Cu coordination by the ligands. 2. Magnetically normal complexes being more strongly associated than those of group 1 and having a higher coordination number of Cu than four. 3. Complexes of a transition type.In two cases, isomeric chelates have been isolated with, in both cases, one isomer belonging to group 1, and a second isomer of group 2 and 3 type, respectively.

Description / Table of Contents: Dimethyl(and -ethyl)-amino-dimethylglyoxime (H2L and H2M, respectively) react with Ni(II) and Pd(II) forming innercomplexes which are analogs of bis-(dimethylglyoximato)-nickel resp. -palladium. The tertiary amino groups have no ligand functions, they are, however, readily protonated to give quarternary ammonium salts such as Ni(H2L)2X2 with X = Cl, ClO4. In connection with the compounds Ni(H2L)2Cl2 and Ni(H2L)2Cl2, 2 H2O, the problem of isomeric Ni(II) complexes of vic-dioximes is discussed.
