Notes: Summary Introduced into the stomach of tuberculous patients together withvaniline hydraside of isonicotinic acid, HINA is absorbed, accumulated in the blood and excreted from the body in considerably smaller quantities than after its administration alone, approaching phthivazid by metabolism. This may be explained by the fact that in the body HINA forms hydrason (phthivazid) by combining with vanillin.

Notes: Summary Acute experiments were performed on dogs under morphine-urethane anesthesia. A study was made of the cardiac activity and dynamics of the ECGP wave with relation to the value of the mean arterial pressure and the rhythm of cardiac activity in prolonged stimulation of the peripheral section of divided vagus after inhibition disruption (vagus-escape). As demonstrated, in prolonged stimulation of the peripheral section of the vagus after vagus-escape the sinus rhythm appears with the frequency of cardiac contractions of 50–60 per minute and with the achievement of the mean arterial pressure of 70–80% of the initial level. The stable form of cardiac contractions thus established resembles the effect on the heart of the vaguscenter characterized by slowed down rhythm of cardiac activity with retention of large systolic blood volume, maintaining the mean arterial pressure at a sufficiently high level. Atrioventricular rhythm and artioventricular block were observed with a lower mean arterial pressure and a slower rhythm of cardiac contraction.

Description / Table of Contents: Вывды 1. III).
Notes: Summary 1. The nutrition of caddisworms Phryganea grandis on Potamogeton perfoliatus and on Elodea canadensis is accompanied by a clear difference in metabolism intensity. The respiration of larvae fed on Elodea canadensis is similar to that of starved larvae (table II, fig. 1). 2. There is no daily rhythm in respiration, nutrition, and movement. The metabolism intensity increased in moving caddisworms by 143–239% compared with the basal metabolism (table II, fig, 1, 2). 3. In case of nutrition on Potamogeton the excess index is 7.3. Elodea does not cover the energy expences of the larvae. 4. Potamogeton perfoliatus contains several amino acids less than Elodea canadensis which besides contains extra substances of not amino acid nature. This gives some reason to believe that the reluctant consumption of Elodea canadensis by invertebrates is possibly connected with the presence of protective substances (fig. 3, Table III).

Description / Table of Contents: Основные результаы 1. I). 2.
Notes: Summary 1. Eurycercus lamellatus is distributed all over the Volga Water Reservoirs; it is confined to the vegetation beds (table I). 2. Biomass of E. lamellatus increases in the Middle of July and remains on the high level till autumn (fig. 1). The increase in the biomass in July coinsides with the development of inshore vegetation. 3. Growth in case of feeding on detritus and in case of minimal feeding was studied (fig. 3). The growth rate and longevity depend on the kind of feeding. 4. The rations of E. lamellatus are determined and evaluated energically (tables III, IV). 5. Feeding on detritus does not ensure the flourishing of E. lamellatus; its clones invariably die when fed on Chlorella; there are indications on good condition of E. lamellatus fed on bacteria. The abundance of E. lamellatus in the vegetation apparently depends on the freshly died-off food material and bacteria.

Notes: Abstract This communication gives information on the study of a fuel element of the First atomic electric station which had been exposed in the reactor for 445 effective 24-hour periods. Diameter measurements show that there is a limit to fuel elements swelling at large burnouts. The concentration of transuranic elements in fuel element is equal to (in kilograms per ton of uranium): Pu239−4.10, Pu240−1.53, Pu241−0.64, Pu242−0.20, Cm242−2.73·10−3.
